Parents came out to Colorado for a visit, took my Dad to the Spyderco Factory Outlet in Golden. It is well worth the visit. The staff is super friendly, they love to talk/show you their products, and have some interesting displays. It is worth the visit if you are ever in this part of the country.

Our buys: From left to right 1. Friction Folder, 2. Lil’ Native, 3. Enuff, 4. Street Beat. I bought 1 and 4.

    Why?
1: it was in the clearance section by the register and only $50. Interesting design and VG-10 steel.

4: EDC/Running, in CO you can conceal any blade 3.5” and under. This fits the bill as it is lightweight and the sheath and handle work perfectly together.

    Dad’s buys
2: faster opening than his current edc Delica. The associate explains the opening was different due the design/grip material of the Delica

4: wanted a new fixed blade that had more uses than his ka bar tdi. Also, considered the same knife in clip point.

Lots of fun, no pics of the inside, but of note is steel from the twin towers and a display of chicken fighting barbs? They were basically finely crafted swords for cock fighting. It really captured my imagination for some reason.

On vacation this week so decided to drive up to Golden and visit Spyderco. I was looking for a new edc with a blade around 2.5”. I ended up with the para 3 lightweight. It opens fast and operates with one hand easily. The weight and deep carry clip make this knife carry like a smaller knife. This is as recommended by the sales associate after looking at knives and explaining what I was looking for. The price was also great considering I budgeted for more.

I remember the first Spyderco I ever saw. Musta been about '87 or 8. We were building a shoot "room" out of piano boxes and Ken Hackathorn was cutting up those piano boxes with great ease with a strange looking knife. Damn over 30 years ago...damn.

Thanks for sharing. They definitely got the clip right on this version, compared to the regular para 3, which leaves quite a bit of the end hanging out. If that Para is going to be a user like your Kershaw, you might consider putting a sharpening choil on her. Nothing spoils the look like recurve where it wasn't intended!

They will sharpen their knives for free. So while I’m local I’ll just have them do my sharpening as it will give me an excuse to go back.

Totally overlooked your location! Lucky to live that close - sounds like you have it covered.

My BIL is in town and we went up to Sypderco. This came back with me.

Manix 2 shown with my last purchase.

I wanted a serrated blade and wanted a Spyderco knife with this lock type.

If I lived that close to the outlet I'd be broke. I did make it out there last year and spent two hours looking at everything and talking with the sales guy, my wife was very patient.

I've tried other brands but I come back to Spyderco every time. I'm embarrassed to say how many of them I have now. Hopefully I'll make it out there one year for the seconds sale.

The sales staff is really knowledgeable and love what they have to offer.

I thought about going to the 2nds sale but was told by the staff people camp out in advance and didn’t want to participate in that nonsense.
