Stag Arms Leaving CT

https://info.stagarms.com/blog

In June, they made the announcement they were leaving CT, but did not disclose the new location.

Good for them!

I hate it for the employees in CT, but it is good to see companies telling tyrannical bastions, “So long, MFers!”

Also glad to see they’re finalllllly leaving CT but at this point the state is happy they’re leaving. Had they been more principled and left after the first or even second infringement, the state may have learned a small lesson.

If memory serves me the owner of Stags Arms was indicted for violating federal firearms laws and eventually settled and forced to sell his company. Looks like the new owners are saying hasta la vista to CT

It was probably a buncha BS...

wasn’t like he knowingly and willingly supplied arms to foreign drug cartels.

The owner wasn’t keeping track of his lowers and I think some of them were NFA (don’t quote me on that). The charges were legit from what I read though.

Personally - I’m a huge fan of of them older Stag stuff...when it was truly Stag. Their QC took a dive and now they have some ground to make up...

I will certainly be keeping an eye on their products when they get the new plant up and running, if they can return to the same quality of products they were known for 5-10 years ago I’ll definitely pick up a couple of upper & lower kits to support them.

Stag Arms Raided by ATF For Stupidity, Not Criminal Enterprise

They had a reserve of unserialized lowers so if one serialized one was damaged, they could just destroy it and engrave a "blank" (still had all the identifying company marks) with that serial number. And they didn't promptly serialize some other lowers because their SN guy was on vacation. Oh, and they moved some from one site to another, which should have required a "transfer".
This is a few felonies, apparently - even though they maintained control of their guns and didn't illegally distribute them.
