Stainless 50

I checked the twist and its 1 in 28". Perfect for the big slugs I like at 370 grains and 70 to 100g powder. Cut the BALL SEAT 1/4" deep at the muzzle. Got it cleaned up and just waiting on the mounts now.

Loose fff goex and loose h777. Prolly check a double ball load and the 370 tc with both powder .

777 should give mr 1500+ fps with the slug .

Prolly use black interchangeable out to 75 yds or so. Would like to shoot the first deer this year with some 120 year old black and bullets cast with the lead I pulled off ol Bessy's radiator.

Now that is doing it old school. Only way to do it any more righter would be to changer her to flint and make your own powder. I currently have 5-6 muzzle stuffers but I never had the chance to shoot flint. Maybe some day.

I had a flintlock.

One day at a friendly competition, after many and many friendly competitions yielding the same sad results.......I decided to wrap that non firing custom bastard around a tree with a single swing gripped from the muzzle. Fortunately a friend stopped me, made and offer on that Custom made siler/greenmountain/davis/lotsa curl maple/made by a nationally known gunsmith, way too expensive Piece of Shit and bought it from me for a good to me price.

He never got that Fxcker to fire reliably either! HA! That'll teach him! He said he couldn't be my friend anymore cause of that jinxed beauty of a devils ass hole rifle.

Both of us now shoot percussion and are quite satisfied. We even stayed friends having discovered percussion caps are like primers.....reliable as all hell. And..... I haven't been in the position of needing a "Rifle Rescue Purchase" in nearly 30 years!. Fxck A Flintlock!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Well gee whizz. Tell me how ya really feel. LOL :D

Whenever I'm at a match and a poor dumb bastard has a click with a flintlock, I walk over, hand him a percussion cap with the words, " I see you need a new/sharp flint" and boot scoot boogy back to my own bench before I get throat punched!

I vote for 3f black and self cast boolits.

In other news, I got it straight from the NC Dept of Wildlife that my 1863 Sharps is ok for primitive weapon deer season. The regulation states only that the arm must not use "fixed" ammunition, meaning my 50/70 or 45/70 are both out but the Sharps, now that's 54cal of paper cartridge coolness.

Shot it in today. 70 g fff H777 and the hard cast 370g TC maxi. Always been a fine deer load. If using Goex I load 90g fff.

Dead on at 25 yds puts me back on zero at 75 to 80 yds and easy for 100 yds broadside

Just need to work the lock. Hammer catches the fly and need an Uncle Mike's hot shot nipple as the factory nipple has too big a vent hole.

30 years of dried goo in there. Cleaned and adjusted the set triggers. Cleaned the lock, polished and greased contact points. Changed to a small vent nipple. Captured the barrel wedge, since i've experienced hunting with the barrel secured with a boot lace. Wrapped cloth friction tape on the scope to prevent burning off the finish. Annotated the load on the barrel. Time to practice. Season is coming fast.
