From David Harris , franchisee, Smithfield’s CHICKEN ‘N BAR-B-Q®, located at 4000 Jones Sausage Road.

I am franchisee of this location. Willie McKennies is my partner and has been the General Manager since we the store opened over 17 years ago. We have had a long standing relationship with Raleigh Police Department.

We respect law enforcement, we have called upon them in the past for assistance, we take utmost seriousness of this issue, we have spoken with numerous officers tonight, we will do thorough investigation and terminate anyone employed that doesn't share our RESPECT of ALL law enforcement. We will continue to support RPD!

We are forever grateful for all the men and women of law enforcements courage, dedication and sacrifice.

Welp, a fella could lose a franchise over that kinda mess. Lets see if patronage falls enough for that. A partner is a defacto agent. That statement was a hammer slammer.
 
It is bad enough for LEOs out there from dirt bag criminals they deal with on the streets but when they take a break to get something to eat and drink to have to put up with that type of reception sucks. Also, even though it is a Class I Felony, they have to worry about "stuff" like spit, boogers, etc be put in there food or "dropped" on the floor or such at places like this. When something like this happens you gotta wonder what stupid stuff goes on behind the counter and in the kitchen.

Which is why I wouldn't eat there after this. Obviously the staff is willing to show public disrespect which means that the behind the scenes stuff is worse,

There is also the fact that their behavior was unprofessional. To me it had nothing to do with the fact that their target was cops, it could have been anybody, any customer, for any reason, it is still just as unacceptable.
 
It's all in who you hire. When will buisness' figure that out?

I can only speak for the Conway/Myrtle Beach area. Chick-fil-A employees are in another league than any other fast food restaurant. For some reason, all the Chick-fil-A workers are very neat and presentable, polite, articulate, and able to complete your order accurately. I have often wondered if Chick-fil-A can do it, why can't the others?

The simple answer is often the right answer. Chick-fil-A is owned by Christians and operated according to Christian principles.
 
My letter to Smithfield:

DISGUSTING and UNPROFESSIONAL
Who are you hiring at your location in Raleigh. How is it acceptable that your employees sang F- the Police when the cops that are protecting us are at your restaurant having a bite to eat? Even the GM of that location participated in singing F- the Police - why isn't he fired yet?

Please do not reply to my concern with a typical packaged email - YOUR ACTIONS in firing the GM will speak louder than your reply.

Nothing in the OP's FaceBook post says that the GENERAL Manager was present or took part. Big difference between the Manager on duty and the GENERAL Manager. GM is a senior boss of bosses. I'd suspect that the Manager involved was likely a 20-something that has been around a year or so.

I stand corrected but the GM should be fired anyway for hiring/promoting the so called manager on duty; GM must've hired in his image.

I'd say it is more than just that. Take some time and really look at who they hire. They always have more people that are 'experienced' or shall we say OLDER. They also hire a lot of clean cut high school kids. Very little of the 19-35 year old, had 12 jobs and stayed out clubbing until 3am types. Religion might play a role, but there is a smart business plan in the works too.

Actions have consequences

I already wrote them an email and said I was done with them for good unless they apologized in public. Even then I don't know that I will go there again as I don't feel able to trust them to be capable servers of food in a safe and professional manner to my family and I.

Agree with the comments about Chick fil A. Not only are they polite but they retain their employees too. I go to the one in Knightdale often, and there's generally the same friendly faces there month after month. ("My pleasure!")

Respect works both ways, and it shows in employee retention.
 
God my wife is smarter than me ...

My wife says if it had been another "group" that the staff had sung an offensive song to such as a LGTBS couple or BLM tour bus or such there would be MAJOR protests scheduled with the entrances blocked to keep people from entering or even shipments of food and other supplies to operate the restaurant. Because it is a group of people that the liberal SJWs hate it is merely a blimp on the radar that will pass unless good conservatives keep stirring the pot like those "special interest groups" do.

Religion sucks but Jesus has a real influence on things.
 
I go by that smithfields all the time. It is not out of the ordinary to see multiple LEO's inside eating. Its a typical meet up point for rpd or wake county sheriffs. Between the LEO's and all of us, they are about to lose a huge chunk of business.

Same experience here in Charlotte, especially one location off Park Road. Always courteous and they repeat the order before taking money to be sure it's right.

BLM, Bureau of Land Management. I can't unstick that reference.

I've heard that, and didn't mention it in my post above because I couldn't verify it as anything more than a rumor. If enough people hear quacks, they tend to believe ducks are around.

He has lost a couple sexual harrasment cases against male employees in the past. He doesn't try to hind his homosexuality now.

I recall it was in the news 7-8 years ago, because he was getting his pants sued off, figuratively and literally.
 
I have also found Chick Fil A staff to be unfailingly professional, polite, and willing to go out of their way to be helpful, all across the state. They have clearly been trained well and are expected to provide great service by their management.

I have a weakness for Bojangles fried chicken, but CFA is my first choice if I can find one.

ETA: I have only occasionally eaten at a Smithfield's over the years... Was never very impressed. I won't be back if this report is true.
