I am looking to expand my storage capabilities. My current safe is pretty well packed even after I cleared out some completely useless stuff and I would prefer to still keep everything in a safe, so I have been shopping around a bit for a new one that will just have firearms in it and keep all the other crap and ammo in the one I already have. Because of where it will have to go, it has to look good or Mrs. will nix the deal. I have been leaning toward the Steelwater brand upgraded model. Based on the looking I've done this seems like a decent deal. They are made in China, but supposedly to the standards and design of the company, yada yada. Under $800 delivered.

I watched their video, but they failed to go at the sides with a die grinder.

Anyone out there have any thoughts on the brand? Or suggestions for something similar. I am open to dial locks, but the budget seems to keep me firmly in the e-lock arena, and the Steelwater has key access.

Do they mention the steel gauge anywhere?
If not, I would pass. That's a spec that should be published. I'd be suspect that it was not given.

This is a sincere question. What is it about that particular safe that's more attractive (to the Mrs.) than the other similarly priced options?

I think in your budget that’s as good a choice as any. With a electronic lock you will need the key backup. I need a safe as well but have been undecided as to brand. The one you selected is a manageable weight if you ever needed to move it to another location. I’d rather have two smaller safes than one 800 lb monster.

12 Gauge steel, under the features tab.

She likes the spoked handle, and the caps on the hinges and the graphics on it. The vintage sort of look. The e-lock throws that off a bit. Oh well.

A huge consideration in my decision to go multiple instead of one big one is the weight factor. I'd rather not have to hire someone to move it if I had to for some reason.
