I just got 2 old straight razors that were either my Grandfathers or great Grandfathers.
I'm looking for info and the web does provide a whole lot of help.
Does anyone here have any info or links that would help me?

1. J. Blomer 121, Dusseldorf
2. Prosperity #450, hand forged, E. Morris Mfg Co, Detroit, Mich, made in Solingen Germany, it is in an original box that is hard to read

Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ron

Sheffield and Solingen both did and still do put out fantastic straight razors. I have some from both, new and old.

I actually have one of those Detroit razors, I could never get it to keep an edge though. But I have it because Detroit is home.

Nothing collectible strop them up and use them.

They are from family, I don't care what the $$ is, I just want info so when I past them on to my G-sons they will know a little.

Every time I hear “straight razor”, I think of my jailbird Grandfather. He kept one in his sock at all times. I asked him once why he kept it there and his reply was “you never know when you might need to cut somebody”.
