I hope I posted this in the right spot?

I’m looking at buying a pto stump grinder for my tractor (kubota bx2380). Have any of y’all had any experience with one, good or bad? I have about 10-12 stumps on my property now that I would use it on. Most are 15-24 inches, but one is closer to 40”. I got a quote of $280 to remove just that one stump. I know I could rent, but I have over 3 acres of trees and looking to buy some land in W.V. In the next year or two. So I’m sure it will get used a good bit for food plots and cleaning shooting lanes. Plus any trees that fall or need to be cut down on my property.

I do a good bit of side work with my tractor, so I thought I could pickup a few jobs here and there with the grinder to help cover some of the cost. I have payed for every implement that I’ve got for personal use with side work. If there worth it?

This is the one I’m thinking of ordering.

I have exactly that grinder.
My only complaint is my slowest speed Low range etc is still too fast. A hydro with creeper gear would be ideal.
I've changed the carbide teeth once so far.
There is a place in Raleigh that claims to re-tip teeth for a decent price. I haven't tried them yet. I bought mine used but I'd not feel unhappy paying the new price knowing how well they hold value. They are built like a tank.

Awesome thanks for the feed back!
My tractor has a hyd trans so I can make it creep along if need be.

What hp is your tractors pto and do you have any interest in selling yours before I buy a new one? 😊

I'm surprised at the 15hp minimum rating on that unit. If that's true then the 17hp (PTO) of the 2380 should work it.

From what I’ve been reading it just bogs down more with less pto hp, so you just have to go slower.

My PTO HP is 35.
I had a 19 HP 4x4 JD prior to this machine and I think this would be too much for frequent use. Occasional would be fine but your not gonna win any races. Tiny tiny bites or you will bog out fast!!

I have a friend that has that same one. On my l2501 it would spin up. Take a 1/2 bite side to side on a 15 inch stump. Wait 30 to 40 seconds for it to reach speed again. Then take another bite.

On my now 49 pto hp tractor. It's the bees knees.

That’s what I was wondering about, wanting for it actually spool up when it bogs.

take this for what it's worth. I DO NOT own a tractor; however I have watch hundreds (literally) of hours of youtube tractor videos...and have seen several vids on baumalight...they ain't cheap!...but everyone loves them from what I've seen.

It's horse power. Not mfg. That makes the difference on how they work.

My experience is real world not a sponsored advertisement

I'll agree...and even bow to your knowledge...however..Stihl and Husqvarna make a heck of a better chainsaw than a Poluan.....
So...it may be HP...but quality is quality...

That looks close to the one my neighbors landscaper was using two weeks ago. I watched for a couple minutes and it did well. Took a while for the size stumps they did. Four weeks ago I had a guy using a dedicated stump grinder. A tractor unit is nice but of course not as fast and easy as a dedicated unit. You guys threads having want to sell out and move into the woods.

Most of the time with tractor implants (not always) they are built for a fair amount of farm abuse and are over built. Plus my tractor is so small ( that’s what she said) I bet my tractor will snap before I bust anything rated for up to 45 pto hp lol
