Sub2k castle nut fix (from Keltec)

There is no mechanical attachment. The 380 adhesive is what they use to attach the nut from the factory. I have had mine off a few times on both my S2K's to install McCarbo upgrade parts and I just adhere it back on with the Loctite 380 and it stays put.

Did it come loose from normal use or from disassembly/assembly? Exploded digram makes it appear that there is no mechanical attachment.

Just vibrated off during a match. No harm, just had to remember to re-seat it before each stage. I emailed tech support and they were trying to describe the 380 but wouldn't use a part number or anything, just said "locktight black", then said they would send me some if I "didn't have access to it". Now that I know what it is it's not at all hard to find, but this way it's 100% certain I've got the correct goo.

I expected it to actually be black like permatex or something, since it mentions "black toughened" and "black max". Looks just like superglue.

I tested some reloads with the sub2k today in prep for the steel challenge on Saturday and the nut came loose so I put this stuff on it tonight. If I'm fighting with the nut on Saturday, we know the black magic failed.

@Jayne , maybe the tube you have needs to be kneaded as what is in the vid @Button Pusher posted is definitely black.
Shade tree that I can be at times, it seems the nut serves no more purpose than what several wraps of electricians tape would if in need.

you are correct. I kneaded it and it came out clear, then did it again and it came out sorta tinted black. still has the same viscosity regardless of color. hopefully it's just some pigment that settled in the tube and not part of the bonding chemicals. guess i'll know this weekend (and may just have some tape in my bag to hold the nut in place temporarily if needed). It's holding the receiver together laterally, it doesn't appear to have any forward/backward forces on it other than recoil.

Did the front fall off again or did it hold?

Still on there. Haven't fired it much, been working on the AR any chance I get to the range that isn't pistol practice. Poor keltec is being ignored and generally unloved at the moment.

Ever notice how aftermarket parts for any keltec are 10x the manufacturing quality of OEM? Ruins the feel of the weapons. :)

These are the first two KT firearms I ever owned. I actually like the aluminum trigger, trigger guard, new trigger springs, SS feed ramp, larger mag release, muzzle brake, and reduced trigger pull. I think the MCARBO.com upgrades enhance the Subs performance.

That said they are just fun steel plate range plinker guns.
