Is it possible to get 200k+ miles on factory Subaru head gaskets? I don't know anyone who's kept one much past 100-120k because that's when the heads started going bad.

We're 13 years past the engine design that had head gasket issues.

For anyone doing any shopping, the Crosstrek is basically the same car as the Impreza but with more ground clearance. The top trims also have the 2.5L engine option. That is the engine that will be in the 2024 Impreza RS. So if you see reports of reliability problems with the Crosstrek of a given year you can expect the same of an Impreza.

Not with our 2010 Outback. 183k. That was just past the serious issues. But apparently not quite fixed either. I’ll know in about a week.

Is your outback much older? 32 mpg is awesome for an AWD crossover/SUV thing.

our 2022 outback 2.5 gets 28 MPG in all around driving on road trips we have got as high as 35mpg
