Outstanding! You don't have to wait for a radio to get on the air, Field Day this weekend. Great opportunity to learn a lot in one place.

If you're in Lexington like your profile says there are several clubs you could join for field day. I coached a friend on running HF on field day and created a radio monster. There is Forsyth county (w4nc?), High Point (w4ua) which often times comes in the top 5 in their class, and both the Greensboro clubs tend to set up stations.

Yeah, I joined Tri-County ARC and they are having a field day this Saturday at Oak Hollow. I hope to go and get a little radio time there.
Great way to see the how to put one or more antennas in the air, start off by logging and you'll be in the operator seat in no time.
