I have three ARs chambered in 300BLK. Ok, technically two in 300BLK and one in 300 Whisper. I have:

- a 16” rifle I rarely shoot
- a 10” SBR that’s one of the firearms staged for home defense
- a 7.5” pistol that’s given me some fits but I have high hopes for

All three will have dedicated silencers. I’ve sold the commercial can that was on the 16”. I’ll remove the commercial can from the 10”. What will replace those and also go on the pistol is a trio of Form 1 cans that I had ECCO Machine recore with serviceable baffle stacks. Actually dropped those three off this evening to get Cerakoted so they’ll fit my color-coded caliber system. :D

The silencers are 7”, 8” and 9”. For those with a lot of 300BLK experience, I’m curious as to which silencer you’d pair with which host?

My first instinct was to put:
- 8” can on 7.5” pistol
- 7” can on 10” SBR
- 9” can on 16” rifle

Thought was the 16” would rarely be used, so it would get the least desirable. Then put the bigger of the other two on the shorter barrel for better suppression. But I also realize a 7.5” 300BLK shouldn’t be near as brutal as a 7.5” 5.56...so maybe pair them up shortest to longest?

- 7” on 7.5” barrel
- 8” on 10” barrel
- 9” on 16” barrel

Thoughts?

Best can (functionality wise especially) matched to your SBR for HD ... after that a can does change barrel harmonics so I’d see if there is a crazy result with one match up. Outside of that I doubt you’d see more than a couple dB difference between the cans as long as they are the same diameter tubes and ports.

Only differences are the two additional baffles for each 1” in added length. Tubes are the diameters and baffles are the same design (bore & clip).

I’m just not sure there’s gonna be much of a performance difference regardless of how I pair the two shorter cans and barrels.

I kinda figured it would only be the length and a couple baffles difference. With subsonics it would be very interesting to meter but I don’t think you’d see more than a couple dB difference in a sampling from those cans. I would bet more likely on barrel harmonics being affected more with with additional mass for wave absorption and dampening.

I still would test them all on your and see which one functioned best with your HD SBR ... ejection pattern of brass, gassing in your face, etc ... then test the remaining ones to match best results for the possible combos there.

I’d hope and do expect your “first instinct” above ... the 7” can on your SBR to be optimum for handling and functionality to be just fine.
