I’m new to the suppressor world so I have very limited knowledge and need some info if possible! I purchased the Silencerco Omega 300 during Silencercos buy one get one free sale right before Christmas and went with the Octane 45 as my free suppressor. I plan to use the Omega 300 mainly on my Tavor 7 and possibly my Galil Ace in 7.62x39 but not sure about if that’s advisable on a 8.3” barrel or not. Also I was wondering whether or not the Octane 45 can handle very much use on a threaded G20 10mm or if it’s not recommended at all, it will be on a threaded 6” KKM barrel?

Go to sico website and read the manuals on both. It will give you maximum calibers and minimum barrel length.

SilencerCo is very good about this. They also have excellent customer service.

I do not know if the Octane 45 is 10mm rated.
It is a good 45ACP can. However as with all 45ACP cans you have a half inch hole going through it, this allows a lot of rapid escape of hot highly pressurized gas to escape pretty loudly.
10mm is a hotter load than 45ACP so even if the van is rated for it, you may be disappointed compared to a dedicated can in that caliber.

10mm would run fine in a 45 octane. It’s not a rifle cartridge. Not even close. Pressure isnt a problem there. However it won’t be even remotely quiet.

omega 300 on a tavor 7 I’m not sure about. The SAR and X95 are extremely sensitive to increased back pressure and will cycle too fast w most baffle suppressors. They will work w an overbore .30 cal can or an OSS. I’d talk w IWI and see if they’ve run the omega although since the 7 had a suppressed gas setting it should be fine. Definitely check alignment with a rod before sending a round through it.

BTW you need a rimfire can.

Another thing to consider-
Ablatives.
So, most cans are designed to work dry, many can also work wet.
You can use water or white lithium grease, or Dog Slobber..
seriously the product that works best they named it dog slobber…

The ablatives work by cooling the the expanding gasses faster than a dry suppressor alone, and create more internal turbulence which uses energy and reduces sound.
Generally you can get a 2-3 Db reduction (Decibels double geometrically every 3 decibels, so this could cut your sound signature in half)
Also, you can use the lithium grease as previously stated, however it’s not very healthy to be inhaling atomized burnt lithium.

Additionally,
Be aware of First Round Pop.
When you first shoot a silencer it has fresh air and oxygen inside it. This is combusted when the first shot goes through, creating a subtle but noticeably louder first round than second or subsequent rounds as it’s basically inert exhaust inside the can now.

Absolutely, the manufacturer is the place to get that information.

You are going to want some subsonic ammo to put through that 30 caliber can. Regular 7.62x39 will be quieter through the suppressor than unsuppressed but it's a ton of fun putting a subsonic round through there. Used to be subsonic rifle ammo was a hand load only proposition but the success of 300blk has prompted more availability than ever before. I've seen factory loaded subsonic 7.62x39 and 308 on shelves. If you look, you will find.

Not to spend more of your money for you, but my crystal ball sees a bolt action with a threaded muzzle in your future. Maybe a Ruger American, but the future is hazy....(Lol) Seriously though, a bolt action 300blk or 7.62x39 with subs will make you giggle. A manual action like a bolt is going to be quieter than a semi auto.

Have fun, be safe and don't forget to post pics.

Itll work as well with a 10mm as it does with supersonic 45 ACP. Not well at all. I have several 45 cans. It does well at taking the edge off with supersonic rounds. Thats about it.
