So I have 2 suppressors and an SBR.
Retiring next year and moving from NC to SC.
What do I have to do about the stamps and the engraving on the SBR?
Clearance from local LEO required?

CLEO has nothing to do with it
Engraving isn’t going to change
You’re required to fill out a 5320.20 for any SBR/SBS/MG/DD that is crossing state lines.

Yes, the form is title Temporary Transport, but it’s what gets used. You’ll check the box for “No” when asked about it returning to the original location. Then, like the example on the form shows, you’ll put “permanent move” in the reason box.

Suppressors (and AOWs) don’t require the form. The only time it might raise an issue is if you sold one if your suppressors and the addresses didn’t match. While I’m usually on the “don’t do any more than the minimum” side of legal things…you’re already sending in the form, and it has room for three firearms, so why not include the two cans?
