We've had US Cellular for years. Worked great until the last few months. We would literally have to stand by the back door to send a text message. Had numerous instances of "failed delivery" text messages. What really made me decide to switch was last week when I was in Greenville with 4 bars my download speed was .24Mbps down. This past week we switched the wife and kids phones (Iphones) over to Verizon. Couldn't get my older S8+ switched online. Got my SIM card in yesterday and got it switched. Prior to switching my SIM I ran some download test on my wifes phone (Verizon) and mine (US Cellular). She was getting 40 down. I was getting 2. Switched my SIM out for the Verizon and my download was 40. Plan price will be about the same. Glad I switched. I was thinking of upgrading my older S8+ to an Iphone. New Iphones are $1,099. They offer "up to $450 in trade in." I was told my S8+ was worth $100 in trade. LOL. Maybe the older I get the cheaper I am getting. Mine works fine. I'll keep it until a good deal comes along. Having said that Verizon is giving $300 in E-gift card for my line and $250 for each of the 4 other lines that I will be getting in January. I think I'll use those to upgrade. Only reason I was considering upgrading was because I'm the only one in the family with an Android and I'm not liking Google/Alphabet privacy issues.
