I have about .4 of a pound of Tac powder that I want to use up. The 2 main calibers that I shoot that it can be used for is 223 and 308. I bought this powder maybe 4 years ago and shot most if not all those bullets. Just to get space in the cabinet I want to load either some 223 or 308s with the left over powder. I do not think that i have loaded any 308s with it.
What have you seen better results in when shooting it from a benchrest?

Not a benchrest shooter, but I loaded up 4k rounds of 77gr .223 ammo for the M1 for Vets rifle team and we used TAC powder. This was all for service rifle rifle shooting and the decision was mainly due to the fact that the powder meters very consistently with the Dillon powder measure.

One thing that we did notice with load development was that the load yielded more velocity and the SD dropped when we applied a very light crimp using a Lee FCD die.

I had been using Win748 for all my .223 plinking ammo but I'd consider switching to TAC

With only .4 of a lb, just load up some 150gr plinking 308 and ring some steel.
40 ish grains per round gets you 40 rounds.

(1750 grains divided by 40)

Slacker that is what I was thinking because I have so little of that powder. Just loaded 42 rounds of 308 with some Hornady 150 SP bullets. Did not take the time to trickel them. Figure out to 300 yards it should not matter that much on a 20" steel. Loaded them at the bottom of the scale.
