New here and been feeling out the forum this past month and I’m hooked best place online no doubt about it. So onto the purpose of this thread I have multiple rifles in the ar15 platform but I want something more so I have been looking at other battle rifles. So I have decided on a couple of platforms and need you fellas help picking the right platform.
• scar 16
• Acr
•cz bren 2
• and last but not least a ak12 build
Look forward to your insight Pros and cons thanks for commenting.

The ACR is going the way of the dodo unless another company picks it up. There is a thread about Bushmaster being dissolved. I personally would go with the SCAR because of the aftermarket base. I have a friend at KDG and they make tons aftermarket parts for them.

What is it your ARs don’t do that you want done? Potent subsonic? Size? Weight? Coolness?
I just want something else other then the Ar platform and yes coolness is a factor. I promised my wife that I would only buy one gun in 2020 I’m not limited to a budget so spend away fellas.

I get it, sometimes you just want something a little different. Thats exactly how I ended up with a Scorpion lol.

Of the ones you listed, I personally like the SCAR and it has good aftermarket support.
Iffin it was me, that's the way I'd go.

^This is sound advice here. I was going to say the same thing.^

If you like blasting at 2-4 moa, slapping charging handles, and super cheap magazines, theres always a PTR91 in one of it's many configurations.

SCAR is the Gucci option.
CZ is a little more practical, but not as much aftermarket.
Skip the ACR.

AK12 builds are neat, but 5.45 is kind of waning in the US. Maybe that will change when PSA and likely KUSA start putting out 5.45 rifles and pistols.

Has your wife noticed your tendency to get bored with what you have and to look for something new and more exciting?? o_O

Just sayin'

SCAR is the one you want, but due to their current contracts, production is currently in limited supply to the civilian market.

Acr is dead. Never lived up to its full potential
Ak12 is new here. It’s not gonna be cheap to build and at the end of the day it’s still just an Ak74
Scar and Bren are pretty good to go

Anyone mention the XCR yet? ;) There is also talk that Robinson is building the M96 again.
Other than rifle caliber stuff I'd grab a HK SP5.

Robinson Arms XCR - my go to since 2005, caliber kits, now have in 308 as well
IWI Galil Ace - 5.56, X39 and 308
I believe the xcr l may be the winner I have been doing a lot of research today. Thank you gentlemen for all your comments.

I had an older Century clone like this. It was bad ass. Loved going to the range, slappin the bolt handle, watch the AR boys jaws drop from all the coolness and boom away with a big battle rifle. :)

Otherwise. SCAR. :)

I've had alot of friends tell me this as they waste money.

One bought a Tavor - what a POS with a terrible trigger and weird ergos. He's a sucker for bullpups though so then he bought an equally POS Keltec KSG. They sit in the safe.
Another bought a mini-14 and is astonished that I have bought 20 PMAGS for the cost of 4 Ruger mags. He's also astonished at the ability to mount a scope. I love Ruger but the Mini 14 is retarded.

So my advice is buy an HK G36 clone and put the best Trijicon ACOG on it you can afford - maybe ACSS? Then you will be sufficiently poor for 2020. Oh and try and get a case of M855-A1 to shoot it at 4MOA.

Yeah you can choose. I don't think they are morons over there.

I switched my device and was able to utilize the drop down functions on there. Before I guess there was a compatibility issue with the ancient tablet I use mainly for watching YT/Netflix etc

Interesting challenge here.. would be easier if you had a budget, and not limited to one item. ;)

I used to be all about uniqueness and custom. Now I'm all about commonality. Can I get magazines and parts? Can I interchange those parts with another gun to be serviceable?

Just sayin'

Yep. I don't much like anything that has proprietary bits and pieces and/or unavailable/expensive magazines etc. Pretty much everything I have, not just ARs, I like huge production numbers behind it. Yes I'm "basic."

Off the list get a SCAR 17 in .308. You already have the 5.56 covered. Second place on the list would be the BREN 2. Fired couple belonging to the Czechs here in Astan and a decent rifle in 5.56. Or spend the money for some good training pushing yourself and your ARs.

If you can send me one of those little gray night time "adapters", and a PEQ (on the SCAR) I would appreciate it. You know....one that is "broken" "non serviceable" ya know, batteries dead, something like that. LOLOL

^ you have chosen well, esp with the cost of steel 7.62 remaining less than stratospheric compared to good 5.56. I have found myself shooting my AK alot more lately. Only downside is the weight for me.

How did you find one in stock? The AK-E has been pretty elusive since it's intro last year.

I noticed that robs from Ak operators union had a upper 3 hundreds serial number mine is early 500’s so I’ll agree that they are few and far between.
