Taurus TX22

Just wondering if anybody has one yet? I ordered one yesterday and can't wait until it gets here. I've seen a couple U-tube videos and they looked good.

When you get to the range give us a review. I like what I see in the videos.

I'm interested in what you think too.
Do you have the M&P as something to compare it to?

They didn't mention how accurate it was but maybe you can review that for us too.

Just read somewhere the MSRP is goning to be 349. Look for dealers to be at 299
yeah at that price, the Taurii cost almost as much as a Victory......and I've seen the Mark IV around that MSRP for sale locally. So.......that would be a negative.

I love my 22A-1 that I just paid $200 for ;)

I'm still waiting for it to get here. For the Taurus haters no problem, I'll have enough fun for all of us. As for the sales hype what new gun doesn't have it. I'm not going to war with this gun, it's just for plinking. I like the fixed barrel design on this gun that locks to the frame but comes off for disassembly and cleaning.

Don’t mind the snobs. I’m not a huge Taurus fan but I’m not a hater either. They aren’t what I would consider “go to war” weapons...but then again I’m not a “go to war” kinda guy.

I shot the Taurus TX22 side by side with the New Glock 44. I’m surprised to say I’d take the Taurus first. (Trust me, I’m just as surprised as you are!)

Glock 44: (I was the first person to shoot this gun, it’s brand new)
Pros: no failures in 150rds with .22 bulk; familiar feel; Glock Engineering
Cons: 10rd mag, Glock sights, Glock trigger feel.

Taurus: (this is a range rental gun with over a thousand rounds)
Pro: 16 ROUMD MAG!!, comfortable contoured grip, crisp trigger, suppressor ready barrel, not failure in 150 rounds
Cons: plastic three dot sights, weird contour under mag release (mags the mag a bit harder to release), slide cut out for chamber on the side of slide (as opposed to top and side opening, could not check to see if it empty from above, only the side)

All in all, the Glock was nice and felt familiar but at its price, I could get the Taurus, a holster made, and a few extra mags and ammo. I’d take the Taurus. I’ll post my first Target I shot. Keep in mind I’m not bullseye shooter. Lol

I got one last week. On sale at Academy, and another $15.00 off, if I got an Academy credit card and charged it. No brainer!

I've now ran 300, or so, rounds through it. With ZERO problems . . . except the crummy adjustable plastic rear sight. The elevation adjustment won't hold. Pistol was shooting 3" low at 8 yards. I could max out the elevation and be on the bull for the first shot, and then back to shooting low. I've emailed Taurus support staff. They confirmed receipt of my email and I'm waiting for them to get back to me.

Federal bulk, no problems. CCI Mini-Mags, no problem. CCI Standard Velocity, no problems. Tomorrow I plan to shoot at least 100 rounds of Blazer, and another 100 rounds of Federal Auto-Match. If anyone is wondering how I'm hitting what I shoot at, I made a few mods to the front and rear sight. I've had a Hi-Vis fiber optic front sight for years, that came off a Glock 19. Filed a bit on the front of the sight stud, the part that fits in the barrel recess that the screw goes in. Over filed it and it was loose! Dang! LokTiite it, tighten the screw, and dang if it ain't holding. Cut tiny piece of shim, .027 thick, adjusted the rear sight as high as it would go, pushed the shim in, and temporary used a dab of hot glue to hold it in. I can see, I can see! If my sight mods come undone, I'll order a set of fiber optic sights from Lakeland. Maybe one of their Red Dot plates that replaces the rear sight? Except for the plastic sights, this Taurus is not very Taurus like. It works!

A washed out pic of my TX22 with a Hi-Vis fiber optic sight for a Glock 19. I did have to do a little filing on the sight. The screw and blue loctite is holding up. Shot another whole box of Auto Match and around 150 rounds of Federal 36 HPs. No jams, no misfires, this thing just works. Maybe what Glock Perfection is suppose to be?

I may be ordering a set of Lakeline fiber optic sights for this rascal? The adjustable rear sight is a joke. I have a shim holding it up to its highest level. But it's working.

I picked mine up this weekend. I haven’t shot it yet but will be going to the range this week.

Taurus has a deal right now, buy a $39 IWB holster, get a free $24 16 round mag. It also fits a lot of M&P full size holsters.
