If it's got a lid/cover that turns the cavity into a compartment, do you keep anything in it?

If I have an AR with a light on it, I keep a spare battery in it. At one time, I was keeping two extra rounds in my hunting AR. I only use a 10rd mag in it and figured why not?

    What about you?

Battery, allen wrench, small oil cloth to wipe gun down with and to keep other items from moving around.

I have a bolt and firing pin in a couple of them. Had a bolt break once, kinda ruined a range day, could be worse.

The rest are open, one shouldn't be but I guess making a cap that fits right is a tall order, dumps bolt on ground mid mag.

    Alright Gramps, calm down.

I have a compartment in the grip, as well as one in the stock, they contain the following:
    ______

    Yeah, nothing in them
Im not going to battle, I go to the range. If I need something it might be in my range bag. If it's not there then I guess Im heading home/not shooting that gun anymore that day.

Don't know why I didn’t think of putting a battery in there. Fits with the bolt in there.

Some of mine have an allen wrench that fits the optic or accessory, and a pair of ear plugs in them.

While some of my optics are illuminated, they have crosshairs that will work even with a dead battery, so I never bothered to include one.

Lens cleaning cloth on guns with glass. They are cheap in bulk from amazon and you can stick two in there if you want.

Usually just ear plugs. Seems like I or someone has always forgotten theirs..

On the cheap 7.62x39 I'm trying to kill (run til it won't) I have a small leak proof bottle of oil in case I need to add some. Held from rattling around by more ear plugs too.

I carry copies of my Form4 for any suppressor that fits that rifle. Fold, fold, fold, compress with a C clamp and tape. I keep a copy of my trust hidden in the truck. So far no one has asked, but I'm sure I'll run into some county mounty with a hard on some time.
