The best soda

Coke made with Sugar not Corn Syrup. Which these days means bottled in Mexico or the Caribbean.

Ale 8 This stuff is the bomb. Love some Woodford with a splash of this stuff. Its also pretty good on its own. I lived in KY for a while and it was considered a pantry staple in the area I lived in.

Barq's or Dad's Root Beer....

What kind of fast food place has Tab? And what kind of monster actually drinks it? It tastes like it's been filtered through cardboard.
Used to is the key word of past history, @ 1982.
Burger King drive through off of Hwy-70 in Ral W of Crabtree was my favorite position. The drunks were hilarious!

You're all wrong. Obviously the correct answer is cheerwine

A few years ago, I met disappointment when I proudly told the Wendy's drive thru order box that I wanted the spicy chicken combo with Cheerwine to drink.

"I'm sorry. We don't serve Cheerwine any more." ...........

The spicy chicken combo will never be the same again.

Mt. Dew
Coke
Cheerwine
If they have any of these not in that Coke (mix all the dang flavors up) dream machine thing, I am good to go. I do occasionally enjoy myself a peach Nehi also. Mostly just sweet tea and water usually.

I quit drinking regular soda almost 15 years ago. Been drinking diet soda since then, except for a few periods where I didn't have any soda at all.

Recently I started attempting to cut out aspartame, so normally it's Diet Pepsi or zero calorie Monster. Diet Cherry Pepsi if I can get it. Diet Cheerwine doesn't have aspartame in it, so I'll have that when I can.

If I could afford it, I would drink the white Monster sodas constantly.

Coke is king, RC is a solid 2nd in the cola sector...
Cheerwine and Dr Pepper are staples...
A&W on draft(nitrous, not CO2), IBC in the bottle...
7up for lemon/lime...
Seagrams Ginger Ale...

Everything else is sub-par to swill...

Not a big soda drinker but my kid gets some crazy oriental soda called Ramune and their crazy flavors are great ... especially the watermelon and pineapple.

And on occasion nothing beats an ice cold REAL sugar Coke from a glass bottle ...

I quit drinking soda in the '80s when bottlers quit using glass. I can taste the aluminum or plastic.

Up until then, it was original CocaCola or Fresca.

Mountain Dew/Mellow Yellow. When they don't make me sick they are great! :(

My boyhood implores me to vote Orange Crush. It was always a treat to find a machine that had it, usually when the family was travelling. Grew up in Atlanta.

Seriously the best one ever was the Coke that came out with 50% the normal amount of sugar 10 years or so ago. No artificial sweeteners, just less sweet. I can't remember the name. Didn't last long like most good things due to the intelligence  of the masses.

Sundrop but its hard to find up here. The fondest memories were of the 8oz glass bottled Cokes that you could only get in Carolina; Well up until the 80's if I recall. Grandma would give you one for yourself and no sharing...precious memories! 3rd....Yuengling......well it is fizzy.

As an aside, I like to listen to old radio programs and a commercial on one of the 19050 or 1951 Dragnets was for Pepsi in the new shareable 12 ounce size. It seems 6 ounces was the norm then compared to the 12 to 32 ouces people consider normal now.

Unless you live in NYC and you have to buy 4 sodas to get to 12oz.....and 320z is a jailable offense! AND...no soda in Philly until you pay the Kings cut(soda tax) that literally tripled soda prices.

Though it's been at least 40 years since I've had one, my all time favorite was/is NEHI Grape Soda.

There are imitators on the market today, but none of them even come close to the original.

Never knew any Southern men over the age of 50 EVER say "soda" or "pop".
Any Coke O product for me is good. Only because I "got da sugar", otherwise , any Coke High Octane. Hey, Geezer...youse wanna pop?
