The "Fire-Bowl" thread

I have spent many, many good times 'round Bill's fire bowl. I've also had the pleasure of enjoying Becky's cooking many times. Good people & good times.

Indeed. Bought one of those bowls for my backyard. Used it a couple of times. But Bill is just a few minutes down the road so I find myself going over there for fire bowl time.

I could've sold a firebowl for @thrillhill the other day. Guy came by the house and wanted mine. I was like "not a chance in hell". Didn't you say you stopped carrying them Bill?

Yep. Supply had gotten a little too sporadic.

If anyone in the Charlotte area is heading to grab one and could pick me one up, I would give you some cash. Might be an opportunity to knock some off the cost of yours!!

Hope you have a good wood pile to keep that pace up many days. Those big ones sure can eat some wood in a hurry. But man is it worth it.
I've been waiting to burn that pile for about 3 months. Leftovers from when a tree dropped across the driveway. There's a decent pile left but that was the branches and cutoffs none of the logs.

@thrillhill usually has the fires so we can warm up amidst deer cleanings and swigs of bourbon or scotch or whatever else ends up being brought over.

Finally got to fire mine up again this weekend for where I cleaned out my office and needed a big paper shredder as well, been a little scared of how dry it was with all the leaves laying on the ground till the snow came.

My grandson came over for a visit, time for hotdogs and marshmallows...
One of the mutts hanging around too...

That is very cool coloring. I've had the green/teal and blue once and it was with a very, very hot fire that cooked a long time. Was using various wood from our property. Probably pine, oak and maybe some locust. Maybe one other unidentified tree too. Maybe a maple.

Whatchoo got in there with the wood? The green-blue has me thinking there's some sort of copper in there.

My wife bought a box of these packets that you toss in the fire that adds some really cool blue and green colors like that. I remember reading the ingredients, but don't remember what they were.

Any one have the dimensions of the fire bowls? I have what I believe and bought as a large, but after measuring it this morning, I'm starting to wonder.

Well damn sounds like I have a medium.

I had a 30” also. Not large, but the “large” can be too large for some folks because they stand up so high. I think they were usually 36”

Thought I remembered him saying the large was just deeper than a medium. Will need to adjust my selling post and price then.

Just measured mine, I know it's a large. 36 wide and 20 deep.

There are no set dimensions that dictate what "size" it is.

The man works with what he has on hand. Tank size varies.

I have two "large" fire-bowls. Their dimensions are different by at least 6 inches. Diameter is not the only factor.

@scmoose , judging from the pictures with nothing else around it for size context, I'd say that you have a "large one".

But as you can see, in my OPINION, you don't necessarily need to label it that way. Just give the dimensions when asked for.

Thanks thrill. I just don't want to misrepresent it in the post I have trying to sell it.
