Of course, the reality is that the indirect impact of an EMP attack wouldn't look anything at all like the direct impact!
That's because our power distribution system is so old and outdated and we've hobbled all the different regions together for power sharing and whatnot, so the direct impact will cause huge secondary losses because of it. Not the the same systems damage by the direct impact, for sure, but life sucks when entire regions go dark because load sharing surges blew equipment and tripped safeties.
