The Flat Trigger

What do yall like about the flat over the standard curved?

I have 4 AR’s and I have flat CMC triggers in all of them

It depends.

Apex in the M&P, kinda dumb. Mile wide, feels odd, works fine.

Whatever is in my 1911, wonderful.

Rifles, have used, haven't bothered.

Yes. Yes I do.

Its a feelz thang. Couldnt explain the science, they just feel so much better during the press for some dang reason.

th

It was good a long time ago. I like them.
The curved trigger we grew up with was just a sales gimmick.

Several of my ARs have the CMC trigger in them. Some curved, some flat.

I started buying the curved, then bought some flats on sale. Looking back, I wish I had all flats, but not necessarily for feel, but appearance. When I look at a flat, I know immediately that AR has a CMC trigger in it. With the curved, I have to look for the little screws. Lol..

Actually I do ,the first factory gun I bought that had one ( sig scorpion) I wasn't too sure about but end up loving it, have since added one to another of my 1911s and the next one I build or have built will have this feature included.

I am a fan, have a CMC in one of my ARs and a Apex on one of my Glocks

I’m a big fan.
I’m coming from the long distance accuracy world, and it just makes sense.
When a trigger is curved, where you place your finger becomes a fulcrum point, and can drastically effect where the end of the barrel points, and exponentially effect where the bullet hits.
A flat trigger however, does not do this as the fulcrum point remains the same along the entire length of the triggers surface.

One less thing to worry about.
This is coming from a world where 1/8-1/4 of an inch is HUGE....

Also, think about it, if you are in a Tactical situation, your BP is up, your adrenaline is up, your accuracy is DOWN, this is a human fact of life, so something small that makes a big difference might end up saving your life.

Yeah I really like the CMC ones in the AR.

@HMP it a two part deal. First, flat triggers are usually part of a trigger package. So you will get an awesome trigger to start. There is very little to no creep, a crisp, lite break and great feel to the reset.

The flat trigger itself is a feel thing. It’s kind of hard to describe but the next time we get together remind me and I’ll bring one of mine with it.

I equate it to tools. Using a lever tool like pliers where the handles are really curved vs ones that have straighter handles the straighter feel better. You can put more pressure more evenly on them. Same with a flat trigger. Your finger can feel the pressure better.

Never thought much about it until I first shot a CMC flat in an AR... Haven't looked back since... I have them in my ARs and just tried the Overwatch in a GLOCK and now I have a Vickers flat in my carry gun and love it...

I have flat triggers in my 1911 styles and some of my AR types as well. Finally had one in my precision rig.
