I was inventorying my powder and primer stash and came across some memories of the good old days.

Thought I’d share them with y’all:

Couple bottles of Unique in my cabinet. Also had some Remington small pistol primers that I got for $7.99/1K.

I know. I still have primers from the days when they were all packed together. A box of 1,000 was was small, and $11.

(not my pic, but an example)

I'm sure folks here have stuff much older than mine.

Winchester $.70 / 100, Remington $.85 / 100, $8.00 / 1000.

I just checked online this morning for IMR 4350 because I finally used the last of ten lbs that I bought in 1969. I bought ten 1lb cans because I was going to shoot a crap load of reloads from my new 22-250 & my old .270, but life and other calibers came along so it took me over 1/2 a century to use up the ten lbs. I had paid $27 for ten lbs back then now a 1lb bottle of IMR 4350 is $45 and up!
But in retrospect a pound of powder in ‘69 sold for $2-3 rose to $17-18 in ‘99. So I probably bitched about prices back then too.

The big question is where is that compared to inflation?

I don't know, too lazy to try and figure it out.

Be careful discussing the prices from yester year, it might be "off putting" to some people. 🤣
The nice thing about being as old as I am is I can tell em to kiss my ass if anything I say or write offends their tender little feelings. Nuthin worse than a cry baby!
I guess I shouldn’t tell them I paid $5.50 for a brick of primers….

good point...

or...how's bout, a "sleeve" (5 boxes) of Sierra 168 HPBT's for less than a box sales for now., Powder $6-$8 #
and finally...8# of WC844, 4895, WC846, Mil pull-down (surplus) for.....$48-$52 when other powders were in
the $20 range per #...shot $11-$16 for 25# bag.....
Found an invoice for a Rock Chucker Press from Midsouth Shooters $56.00, TC Contender Barrels $45-$55 each
I'll stop...
