Personally:

Solvent: M-Pro 7
Oil : Corrosion - X
Grease : Aeroshell 33MS(now called Aeroshell 64)

I bought a gallon each of M-Pro 7 and Corrosion-X, and decanted them into smaller containers. I had bought two tubes of Aeroshell 33MS, slit them open, and put it in some tupperware.

When using the grease, I either use a brush, or invert a ziploc bag, load up some grease into it, and move it into a grease syringe. I use grease for anything with a rail, and rarely, to be honest, choose oil over grease.

What's everyone else use?

I’ve used Frog Lube, Weaponshield, motor oil, and now Ballistol. Out of all of them I liked Weaponshield and Ballistol the most.

That said...the most important factor is that lubrication is applied, far far less important is the actual type used. In my opinion that is absolute personal preference.

I used the oil off the dip stick in my car one time.
I'm not picky.:D Use what works for you.
Just to be clear:
Fresh oil, completely safe. Oil that's gone through your engine for a few months, loaded with carcinogens.

You wiped oil contaminated with carcinogens on your gun, and proceeded to shooting, producing heat and sudden, violent movement, polymerizing said carcinogen laden oil into the air to cover your body and clothes, and to breathe in?

Ha Ha you funny.
I grew up playing with mercury, and keeping pellets in my mouth for fast reloads.:eek:
I drank out of a hose too.:D

Shooters Choice (Ventco) products all the way. 30 years. Sharp Shoot R foaming bore cleaner is good too but a mess to use.

I think the nitrates in bacon will get him first. At least if he is living right.

I've tried all kinds of stuff.........

I will use CLP or Rem oil because I can buy a small spray can that will save space in my range bag.
Ballistol is great and cheap... I buy big can and use my own handle/sprayer.
Frog Lube smells nice.
I used synthetic 5-30 Valvoline sometimes because it's there.
I've used Synthetic chassis/bearing grease on a few things.
Kroil is awesome for penetrating..... when I have stubborn lead fouling - this is my go to oil - no question.
I've used Hoppes gun oil, Lucas gun oil, Butches gun oil, and probably a few more I can't recall..
There are a few situations in which grease is more practical... the bolt roller in an MIA/M14 gets grease.
I honestly think silicone would probably do just fine also.... (which Ballistol might be silicone based?),

Just so it's lubricated as needed, I don't think it's a big deal.

My BIL signed me up for these monthly subscription thing called TacPack. Every second or third shipment usually comes with a random cleaner, lube, or cleaning kit. I'm not at all picky about what I use. But I love the free stuff the best!

Lol. I did all of that and the amount of lead spilt shot I bit onto a line I can’t even count

CLP, Hoppes, Weaponshield, and CRC high temp brake grease.

Ballistol and CLP are main oils I have a couple specialty things I run. I use Royal Purple Synthetic Assembly Lube on bolts and BCGs. It adheres to metal surfaces way better than other oils I’ve used in certain applications.

Down to Mobile 1 and Enos slide glide.

I drank the Frog Lube Kool Aid a few years back never had issue with it until I noticed that it was starting to get gummy and sticky, actually had some molding on a few lesser used firearms.Could be it was a bad batch, early stuff, etc. I know they changed the formula apparently. Before that it was Break Free CLP then Weapon Shield, which I returned to and will stay with.

Although I did like Gunzilla and Copperzilla.

I use just about whatever, Rem oil, CLP ect... the only thing I absolutely will not use is Froglube

I like Slip2000 EWL. I shoot suppressed pretty much all the time so my guns be dirty and need a tough lube

I'm a Ballistol kind of guy. And if I need grease, I use Waffenfett. Cause I'm a hipster like that.

I just have a couple of the small tubs. I don't use much so I still have a little left.
Interesting. I bought several of the Swiss cleaning kits, but all that was in the tubes was the Grey automattenfett, not the yellow waffenfett, you must've gotten some of the older ones. I started using aeroshell, since it's, as far as I can tell, pretty much identical to the automattenfett.

Love Corrosion-X for oil, it's better than just about anything for rust protection and seems like a good lube too. It's thin but stays around.

I also use Slipstream weapon grease. I don't think they make it anymore, now they just make the liquid lubricant. Super slick stuff and it only takes a little but the only negative is it's black, so it looks like fouling, lol.

Froglube is def. not good for long term storage it will get thick gummy and will bind revolver actions etc.
I'm a big fan of ballistol, Kroil (penetrant, loosening agent), shooters choice grease and yes good ol remoil

Frog lube is just coconut oil with food coloring in it. Don't pay $25.00 for something when you can get 5 times more for for $3.99 at Food Lion.

I'm not picky on lubricants, and I've used all sorts. I use Weapon Shield and FP10 the most. I got a bunch of promo bottles of S&W brand gun oil a few years ago, and I use it on pistols. I've used 3 n 1 light machine oil, Exxon brand honing oil, and I've considered using Mobil 1.

If it reduces friction, Its good.

CLP for the last 33 years...I stick to the military CLP (easily procured in the Bragg area) as it still has the teflon additive whereas the version of breakfree on the civilian market no longer has it (its toxic), hence why it may not smell like you remember.

Ok, I haven't seen anyone mention Hoppes #9, what's the scoop?
I have plenty of it and like it a lot.
