The New Hudson H9

I am usually not an "early adopter", but if the fit, finish, and performance of these are up to expectations, I'm gonna improve my match scores with one of them.

It's not quite THAT magical - LOL

Maybe this has been said, but I look at it this way. Street price for an M&P 9 maybe a year or two ago ago, plus Apex FSS trigger, plus quality night sights, and there is not a whole heck of a lot of distance between here and there, pricewise.

I want one of these.

I think thumb safeties are optional? I'm not seeing anything but the trigger safety in the pics, unless I am just missing them.

Yeah, so it's like a Glock with optional extra safeties.

Ok the Montgomery County piggie back red ryder shoot out? Its a small venue but gaining in popularity amoung the toothless crowd.

Yes. But it can only be on one side. Had to be switched for left and right hand shooters.
The pistols I carry don't have thumb safeties.

From what understand the safety on the side is optional and the pistol comes with plugs to fill in the holes.

No problem. Someone needs to come in last. Lol

I said that my first dozen matches, and ten people always managed to shoot worse, lol.

The H9 has only the trigger safety just like a glock. You have the ability to add a thumb safety. At least that was my understanding.

You are way off. All 13.5 are fair shots. I've got all their 3rd place trophies to prove it.

Phil and I were at City Barbecue today, and strangely, your names/s came up. lol

If my name came up it would have to be strangely.

This was pointed it.
I saw in the photos with the safety. It is pretty cool that one has the choices, including no thumb safety, in one pistol.

Any updates here? Anyone get to touch/fire one yet?

I think Chad said he was expecting his this month, and he and a few select others are getting the first run. As of Shot Show I don't think Hudson had set up their distribution network yet, at least based on what one of our FFLs here said of his 25 wholesale distributors he buys from.

They'll sell more in 9, and I expect if it takes off we'll see it in .45acp soon enough. I want one in 9, and I want it now.

The front end looks real dumb. I thought it was integrally suppressed or something when I first saw it. What exactly is going on in that giant dustcover?
They say its so the barrel can sit so low, but it doesn't look any lower than a normal pistol to me. Glock and M&P can get a low bore axis without looking like a Sci-fi gun, what is the purpose of this?

After you eat a Snickers, read the original post, and watch the video.

haha I'm sorry. I don't mean to be so negative. I just did watch the video. Now I know.

still looks dumb though

I get the cool engineering and innovation, but have no clue what I would use it for. Not a carry gun. Can't mount a light for HD. No holsters. Big and heavy. Probably a cool range toy, but it would have to shoot better than my CZ or 1911 to have it make any sense. I am looking forward to hearing all the reviews when they start hitting the street. Hopefully this is just version 1 and we'll see some of the cool innovations put in a more guns at later dates. I'm thinking big calibers might be good in this. 10mm could be interesting.

So a quick update. I finally got my invoice this weekend and sent the check off today. The invoice said it should ship second quarter.

Second quarter is a big window. Did the owners of Hudson work for a cable company's service department in a previous life?

Seems like a pretty cool gun, something different for sure. It'll be interesting to hear your thoughts once it comes in. I have no patience, id be ripping my hair out waiting for it.

I got on the T&E list this past SHOT show. A friend of mine that used to work at Warsport is working for Hudson now.

I came back to check for an update and am bummed it will be 2nd quarter. I'm tired of waiting for you to get your pistol so I can shoot it. LOL I was hoping you might have gotten it already.

Can't wait for it to arrive. Can't wait for them to become available in quantity. I'm trying not to spend my gun money until then. Thanks for the update!
