THE pistol that you WANT

Pfft. Probably enter to sell it, but nobody would buy it.

I entered. They give you $1500 to buy it. You don't actually win the pistol. I wouldn't mind having a Maxim 9, but having to go through the paperwork to get it really makes me ambivalent, should I win. Now, if HPA ever passed and I could buy one without the delay and extra $200 for the stamp, I'd most likely get one.

Yeah I didn’t read the details. I’d be fine with 1500

U.S. Army Colt M1911A1 made before the 1943 changes. No money. Also want a legal Beretta M9 or that civilian special edition they did.

Like lots of folks, I have a list...
  • S&W Model 41. Because it’s supposed to be great, and I’ve never shot one.
  • Something Les Baer or Wilson Combat. Because they are supposed to be great, and I like 1911s.
  • An IHC M1. To have a “tractor gun” to round out one of all four makes.
If I think a little longer, I’m sure I could add to the list :) But I already have many that I like. My real dream is more time to shoot!

And, like most folks, the reason I don’t have those is I’m not made of money.

FN Five-seveN.

I have a PS90 and an AR57...need the pistol to complete the trio. Just haven't decided it's worth the $1K or it would take to acquire it.
NIB in BST for $1000 shipped. $950 FTF, but it's SC so that's out.

To add to my list:
GI 1911
CZ 75B
Tokarev (Had one, loved it, auctioned it, want another)
Makarov

I want a .22 cowboy wheel gun, don't know why I want one so I haven't impulse bought one yet.

The urge wont go away but neither will the feeling that I will shoot 50 rounds and then it will sit in the safe for the rest of eternity.

Jeppo, any particular reason? The 3913 was the first pistol I ever bought back in 90. It was my original carry gun but through the years others took it's place. After shooting HK's and Sigs, the trigger didn't seem to compare. I can't even tell you the last time I shot it. But being my first, I will always hold on to it.

I have a buddy, now a CRNA, who was SF in the 80s, got a CZ 75 and Makarov when he was deployed, back when they were made "behind the curtain." I am 'meh' about the Makarov, but the CZ is one of the best-shooting pistols I have ever shot, and built like a tank.

Me, I love old SIGs, and I would like an old P225/P6.

Its been pretty apparent that I have become a CZ fanboi lately. But I have always liked the look and feel of old Eastern Block pistols. The Tokarev I had >looked< like it would be uncomfortable in the hand, but it was amazing.

I'd still like to get my hands on a Grand Power K100. Shot it once, buttery smooth. Just haven't had a chance to pick one up yet.

Now, if only you guys would jump on the Eastern Bloc long-gun wagon.

No logical reason. A pistol mentor told me I should be looking at Gen 3's and I value his advice. I found a NIB 3914 that I'll not "violate". So, I've still never actually fired a G3. I'd like to find a very clean 3913 shooter I can actually take to the range. Why a 13 instead of another 14? Just to have the different "finish".

If you're anywhere near me (not far from High Point), I'd love the chance to put a few rounds through yours. Maybe that would stop my search or reinforce it. Not sure what I've got you'd like to shoot but I'd give you the combination to the safe so you can decide.

Mine was stolen. Great pistol. Got mine when they first came out. I was an operator then. :)
LOL Yeah I think I had read too many Rogue Warrior books and I had to have one so I saved(I was an E2 then) and finally bought one. Sold it about 6 months later because I had no where to keep it while I was deployed... :(

There is a whole laundry list of Pistols I want, but on the short list are:

A S&W Model 29 in 44 Magnum yes the Dirty Harry Pistol, Why do I not have it, well I am bidding on one now but I seriously doubt that I will win, those things go for a lot more than my highest bid.

A custom built Caspian 1911, my son and I have picked out the parts, this will have a custom serial number, a complete custom build from start to finish. Why do I not have it? well every time I get the money saved up, something else comes along that I have also wanted and it is just the right price and well it ends up in the safe.

These are just two of the ones that are near the top of the long list of wants.

I'm in Charlotte, but if you're ever down this way I have a membership to Shooters Express and can take guests so you are welcome to put a few mags through it.

I'm gonna take you up on that. I'd gladly ride down there for the chance. Thanks @jmgdfther!

On the other hand, I shoot paper and steel at home so my preferred range has the most liberal guest policies. If you're in the Triad, "we'll leave the lights on for ya".

Jeppo, If you get up my way you can shoot mine. I have a 3913, a 39-2(which is a Gen 1), a 645(gen 2), a 4516,a 4506 and a 1076. ...Ready for you to shoot.

@Have gun-will travel, I don't have occasion to be up there but your offer is more than reason enough. When I'm back and get a few kilometers of reports and research under my belt, I'm coming.

Thanks!

What’s the one pistol that you don’t have, but really want? And also, why do you not have it?
Optional: Why do you want it?

I’ll start. I want a Smith & Wesson 4586. I don’t have it because I’m poor. I want it because this particular variant has the partially preset hammer and no external safety/decocker.

I carried a 4586 as a duty weapon for a few years, biggest complaint was that they weigh a TON. They were/are very dependable and IMO well made

There are 2 guns I want' the Nickel Python 357 mag I sold in the early 70's and the new version of the 44 Auto Mag. Both way out of my price range.

I would like to add the new wilson beretta centurion to my want list. Wait a minute, aren't i supposed to be selling beretta stuff? I am a very conflicted man.

Oh Hell!...I know, I know.....I a hypocrite and a gun slut.....here's another I'd like.....

Chiappa Rhino 4” convertible .357/9mm.

Don’t have it because it does not really Fill a need but it is still A want.
