Years ago I used to buy dry sump oil tanks from Patterson Enterprises in California. One year at a trade show I'm having a conversation with the owner and he tells me he also does work for the movie industry. He built the helicopter in this movie.

He was contracted to build two, one for close-ups and one that was crashed. The copters were not actually flying ( you knew that ) but were hanging from a boom. On the first take something went wrong and the copter was crashed at the wrong moment. So he got to build a second "crash" copter.

He also built a ton of the animated things you saw at Disneyland / Disney World.
