Tree at work was pretty impressive, sorry took the pic as I was walking away.
This is our tree this year. The wife has a ton of these village pieces so I talked her into a village tree this year instead of putting up the tree and villages. I built this out of a sheet of plywood and a 2x4.

lmao, true backstory, we bought one on clearance after the Christmas of 2011 (right after I got back from deployment) and we keep telling ourselves that this is gonna be the year be open it up and put it up.

This is my wife's favorite time of year. She really goes all out with the decorating. She probably has eight trees out, lit and decorated with different ornaments and doodads. Come January when it all gets put away, the house looks absolutely bare.

Since I was a whipper snipper we'd get each person an ornament each year. Many of them relate to their interests/experiences that year. Decorating the tree becomes a long trip down memory lane filled with, "do you remember x?" We need a fake tree to hold the weight. Many weren't get hung due to lack of space, when our son's married and moved out, they already had a good start. 2/3 of the way up you can see my Italian Leg Lamp It's on a box so there's room for presents, and the tree looks much larger than it is, the top's at 10'.
