I've heard a few that said they don't like the direction of the forum.

What a few active members say, doesn't necessarily represent the majority of CFF members or the forum owners. Opinions and discussion is allowed here, and because it's allowed doesn't mean it's condoned or agreed with. I've had a rebuttal for several posts I very much disagree with recently. A rebuttal is healthy, censoring isn't. Our members may have different views on extreme opposing ends. Even the Admin and Staff has very different opinions on certain issues, and sometimes it's the extreme opposite. Our staff is even allowed to participate and share opinions, and one staff member's opinion doesn't represent the rest of the staff or forum in a discussion.

We are open to discussion and many views. We won't censor these views, even if that means losing advertising money for the forum because an advertiser doesn't like what another member or members may post. We aren't going to be that type of site. Any discussion is basically allowed until it reaches the level of a threat, personal attack, or condoning violence. We won't tolerate that. We can't please everyone by censoring those who they don't agree with. If one thinks that we agree with something because we allow it to be posted, it's not the case. We will allow discussion without such censoring, and if you don't like the lack of censorship and choose to pull out, I'm sorry and wish anyone the best.

Carolina Firearms Forum will continue to allow diverse opinions without over moderation.

This is how I feel about what's been going on lately-

Take this how you like, but no one is forcing you to engage anyone in a debate, conversation with anyone or to open the page. When you do the above with someone that is posting their beliefs and/or venting you are doing the same exact thing. Then the other person does the same in response. Then it turns into a rocking chair as ittle give you something to do but you'll get no where.

Their are plenty of things i disagree with that I see members post, and some members I actually do not like. Be it here or on other boards I am a member of. Guess what, I read it and if I don't like it I hit the X or back button and continue on with life.

This goes for anyone and anybody, anywhere be it here, on the interwebz, or in real life.

The level of hostility has went up with the heat and people are popping gaskets and getting butt hurt over any and everything.

I will say this, this is the most laid back form I have been a member of and I enjoy coming here

I have no complaints. I have enjoyed many conversations that prompted me to think about various topics from a much broader or more divergent view point. You won't get that out of a politically correct echo chamber. It's part of the appeal of this forum, and I'd re-purchase my membership to keep it that way.

I hear MSN feedback comments is a nice place to hang out, whenever they figure out how to make them all agree with MSN. Until then theyre offline. Just like the other NC gun forums pretty much.

I for one, know we are better than that, collectively. And I'm sad I can't troll MSN.

I don't post most of the time but love hearing the different opinions, makes you think about some things in a way you never even realized. I've learned quite a bit in my short stay. By the way, this is the only forum I'm apart of, this site ended facebook and any other social media that I've ever used. Hope it keeps on trucking.

I've only been here a short time. But this has honestly been the most amazing forum I've ever been a part of. I don't agree with everything that gets posted, but I'm a big boy and the Army gave me some thick skin. I don't need to run into my safe place every time my sensitive button gets pushed. I love it here. I plan on sticking around. At least until my gun in the classifieds sells...

Ya'll might want to tighten up here a bit. I've been seeing a bit of all three.

Not that I'm somebody, but I haven't seen that. I don't go to Tortuga or the other hidden boards though either.
There is a "report" button opposite the like and reply buttons you can use to help them see threats, personal attacks and condoning violence .

I feel that what's happening is a product of our world as we know it today. We are hearing of increasingly violent and stupid behavior amongst all walks of life. We react and make a post indicating what actions WE would take. Opinions will vary (thank God) and expressions will also.......

I know that I rub a LOT of people against the grain and that's their issue, not mine. If someone begins a personal attack I WILL shoot back, sorry but it's my nature and I won't put up with it in any way. I for one refuse to be bullied by anyone, moderators included. I'm old (according to some members) and my opinion or experiences don't seem to count as much as someone else's and therefore I'm to be dismissed. I've never tried to be Miss Congeniality but I've never been offensive unless it was in response. Be prepared to receive what you dish out.....

Speaking of moderators, for the most part you guys are great. Where I think we went wrong was identifying moderators by their handle. Long, long ago in a world far, far away I was the first moderator on one of the largest and busiest boating forums on the net. When we set up the system it was decided that instead of moderating using our screen name we would be assigned a number and all administrative actions would be taken under that number. By doing that we could still participate in the forum using our chosen screen name and not be associated as a moderator. It worked very well and is still in use today. Something to think about....

I'll STFU now and go take all of my pills and try to get today off on an even keel......

In an "attempt" to be fair and even handed in my example and comment, please notice I have not identified the source of the quotes above so no one will have any idea who made these statements. :D

For anyone who shares the experiences of poster #1 above, I recommend the attitude and approach of poster #2.
I can't believe I am actually saying that. lol

Guys, jerk the hell up! It's a social forum, so be sociable! If you don't like what you're reading or who posted it, read something else! How easy is that!? You don't have to wade into battle with your hackles up every time your feeling get hurt! Be more like me, I try to see it from the other point of view, then tell them they're wrong! :D I will say this, I like ve this forum! I've made some good friends here and consider it a second home! I was sick when the Canadian forum went to pieces! Let's not screw this up, OK!? Now, carry on! :)

Am I the only one that has real problems in my life? It's a Internet forum. If I don't like something I see or read I don't look at it anymore, pretty simple too me, if people can get upset over conversations and opioins that are different than there own how do they function in the real world. To quote a great American " I ain't got time for that"

I believe it's a lot easier for the more abrasive points of a personality to come across online without all the humanistic traits that make discourse tolerable in real life. I get hot about some stuff I read, but in the end, I would buy a beer for anybody on this forum.

Well I don't drink so I'm offended you offered me achohol. I'm going to a Mod with this. I can't believe you support drunk driving, not to mentioned gun control. I also don't believe that ISIS is just misunderstood.

Well I've been called a Di@khead and using bigger words called a cock sucker of cops. In the last few weeks. Told to find my own damn thread. For nothing more than expressing my opinion. I've been here and everywhere a long time with you guys I'm not really the type to complain. But there is a line people need to be more thoughtful. I'm ok with being called an agent of the king or kings man or pig or whatever names you want. I like gonzo personally, but when it comes from someone that has been here less than a week it's concerning. I've always been an easy going member and rarely report stuff. But I think you need to draw a hard line on this behavior because it will drive people away.
