I picked up a set of Carlsons choke tubes for my newly acquired Beretta, and patterned them this morning. They patterned really well.

I had read that you need a minimum of 250 yds to shoot skeet, and I have that on my barn property.
I wanted to "prove" the 250', so I shot 3 shells from my dock, across the water, which is WAY further that the shells can possibly shoot.
it was me, the wife, and one of our daughters standing there, and NONE of us could tell where the shot fell! Saw the hull hit the water, but not the slightest
hint of where the shot landed!
This was 12ga 7-1/2 shot.
I would have thought that it would have been easy to see where the shot fell on the water.

At 150+ yards the 'pattern' is probably 50 ft diameter and strung out 30 ft long. Unless the water was glass smooth you wont see individual pellets splash down.

Edit: how far to the opposite shore ??
