Those pics are awesome!!!
Often, yes...for a couple a reasons.
Some of the big "fireball" ammo is in calibers that you find much more often in a wheel gun.
The gap between the cylinder and barrel allows fire to come out sideways, similar to a brake on a rifle. So, you can get the appearance of more fire because it's not all focused around the end of the barrel.
Cool! Glad I didn't see these pics before I went to shoot for my CC!Often, yes...for a couple a reasons.

You do want to make sure you don't use an exaggerated both thumbs forward grip with a revolver, where the support thumb ends up near the cylinder gap. You risk it being cut/burned/etc by the blast.Cool! Glad I didn't see these pics before I went to shoot for my CC!
But still.....excellent!
Well, I didn't get burned by fire, just bruised by grip...I'm glad I didn't know lots of fire was coming at my hands. My hold on the gun must have been OK except for the area that got bruised, of course! JM knows a few things about proper grip.Well, I didn't get burned by fire, just bruised by grip...I'm glad I didn't know lots of fire was coming at my hands. My hold on the gun must have been OK except for the area that got bruised, of course! Lol.
That wasn't lead. It was a gun orgasm.Good form.
What was that loaded with, something like W296?
One of the most unpleasant guns I've ever stood by when fired was a 4" MagnaPorted Model 29. It was concussive and you could see the blast wave roll through the grass in front of the shooter.
The other unpleasant gun, to stand by, was a Dan Wesson revolver where the cylinder gap wasn't adjusted properly. It spit lead in my face.
