Does TC sell a factory threaded single shot contender style rifle/pistol or is that too tactical for thier fudd hat covered heads to conceive?

They have a bolt action with threaded barrel so they aren't 100% FUDDs. The custom shop offers Contender/Encore barrels with muzzle brakes. I'm not sure I've ever seen a non-custom threaded barrel for them though. I have a .30-30 and .22lr barrel for my Contender that was threaded aftermarket.

Is that the compass bolt gun they have been blowing out prices on?
You see the recall on them?
Stop use immediately yada yada yada.

For the record, it will be a cold day in Hawaii before E. Arthur Brown sees a nickle of my money. They won't even mention threading for a suppressor on their 1980's dreamweaver website.
They only thread for muzzle breaks.
They are firmly entrenched in the AARP discount.

Lol. I don't know anything about those bolt actions. Just saw that they offered some threaded ones. I get my barrels on Ebay and at pawn shops like all normal people. Then spend $60 to have it threaded.

I'll be 42 next month. When's that AARP discount kick in?!?!:D

1980's dreamweaver website.
That’s funny.

I have a 357 mag barrel that I was going to thread but decided that it would be unwieldy with a can. Maybe if I come across a forend with a bipod mount.

Never see contender stuff at gun shows anymore.

What I can not speak to is if this is the way the barrel was made or was it modified. I use H110

I used to have a 357 barrel and the throat was reamed deep. It had the external choke. You could buy T/C shot load capsules that were long long long.

Never saw those. I’ll have to take a look.

Is that a LER scope or a rifle scope?

Looks like a sweet setup to launch heavies
With. You should give Lil gun a try.
It's almost magic with heavy for caliber bullets in a barrel that gives some runway.

I’ll pick up some Lil Gun and give it a try. It’s a cheap LER. Looking for replacement.

I’d forgotten about the barrels designed for those shot capsules. I think they were called hot shot barrels and they had a screw in choke with straight rifling. Accuracy was reported to be relatively poor, but if you’re cutting off the choked section and loading bullets long then maybe magic happens. Think they made them in 357 and 45.

If by magic, you mean baffle strikes...then I agree.

Yeah, haven’t looked at what they might stabilize. Quick search didn’t reveal the rifling twist rate.

If the rifling is straight (for use with shotshells) them it won't impart any spin, so calculating stability is a moot point, right?

Only the choke has straight, the barrels have traditional rifling. There was also a comp that you could screw into the barrel in place of the choke.

My 357 barrel had the external hot shot choke. I can't remember about the rifling. The 45/410 barrel was freebored enough to accept a 2 3/4" 410 shell.
The 30 Herrett that I shoot now likes the bullets seated out long. If I use bullets with a cannelure, I crimp way below that.
