Thought I would show this off a little.

WOW, that looks awesome!
Also curious where the wood came from, how'd you seal/finish it?

For those who didn't know, now you know. @Schattenreiter does very very nice woodworking! A while back, he blessed me with a cutting board that is literally too nice to use!

I showed this to my wife. Now I’m in trouble. Where did you source your cedar?

Wood came from a guy local to me whose dad has a saw mill. He posted them on market place and I spoke for 3 slabs. He had 10. I ended up getting all 10.

Forgot to add that the finish is 3 or 4 coats of BLO. They should last way longer than me given they are out.of the sun and rain under a 16x22 shelter off the back of the house.

Oh please tell me that you use it. That's almost like having a gun you never shoot.
Don't you hate that? I gave my sister a really nice cutting board I made, I told her to wear it out and I'd make her another. It's been 3-4 years now and I don't see a mark on it. sigh...

BLO?
Im familiar with ELO (band), but not BLO

Boiled linseed oil

Or Black Light Orchestra; when ELO put out a metal album...

Boiled Linseed Oil. Different from raw linseed oil in that it has additives to help it cure faster. Raw it takes days and sometimes weeks to cure.

...unless you apply it well reduced with mineral spirits, one ultra thin coat at a time.

Last question (maybe) - boiled lineed oil - do you boil linseed oil before applying or it comes already 'conditioned' by being previously boiled and then packaged (and, yes, I understand it's not boiling when you get it)
I just dont know about this yet and have questions.

It comes ready to apply. Do not under any circumstances boil this stuff. It is not a DIY thing.

Lowes, Walmart and any hardware store should have it. Be careful with it. I use it on gun stocks a lot. They say that rags containing BLO can spontaneously combust as it dries. Always dispose of any rags properly. I usually take them out and burn them in the fire pit.

Oh, I do! But it's still the nicest I've ever owned, and it's the most appreciated!

Could you tell me what he was asking for them?
Have access to several nice cedars and was wondering if it was worth sawing them.
Thanks.
