I'm sharing the following for the “Brothers & Sisters in Arms” that are frustrated with getting their Rigs Tuned.

What follows are my Muzzle Brake Test in conjunction with what it likes for Juice.

The following was achieved with, Hum, a Budget ( Junk ) firearm & accessories.

Bang Stick = Compass in 308 (2 bucks) , scope that holds zero, a few brakes, variety of juice, & patience.

The rifle has 5R rifling with a 1:12 twist. Ammo used ( tested ) Perfecta 147gr FMJ, Remington 180gr SP, Remington 150gr SP, and Federal 150gr SP.

In all I tested 5 muzzle devices and one of the 5 works excellent with using Federal 150gr Power Shok Sp.

From the pics, the Fed Non-Typical Whitetail and Fed Power Shok is the same ammo in different boxes.

Shooting was done sitting off a blanket covered ammo can at 63 yds.

Top pic , in lower left is the Fed 150gr SP grouped on TOP of each other.

Lower pic shows first run with a larger brake and the top 3 targets with no brake in use and lower 3 with the brake. This large brake was not acceptable so I got more to try.

While at the range a few BIAs asked about adjusting the scope.

Answer, do NOT adjust the scope between ammo types.

Zero or get scope on paper and just run it.

In case anyone wonders, no I am not concerned about running this rig to 1,000 yds and frankly it's not going to readily happen with a hunting round.

I'm more into knowing where the Love is going and hitting.

Primary moral here, 'barrel harmonics .

Hope this Helps some.

Safe Shooting
