Last night I caught this on HBO and loved it!
Quick plot - lady's daughter was raped and killed and the local cops dont seem to be doing anything to catch the rapist. She rents...THREE BILBOARDS OUTSIDE OF EBBING MISSOURI to criticize the police and things get shaken up.

Stars Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell, and a lady I recognize but dont know her name.

And it was shot here in the mountains of NC.

I know it won a lot of awards and such, and, finally, I can agree with those people cause it was danged good!

Frances McDormand.

I've seens some advertising for the movie, but never an actual trailer/preview. Might have to check it out now that I have free HBO.

ETA: 5p on Sunday...DVR is set

Watched it this morning. Definitely not a waste of time. Pretty decent. Several interesting twists.

Important character, but not a lot of screen time. More talk about him than from/by him. Don't let his name in the credit dissuade you.
 
I watched this movie based on this thread and hated the movie. I kept waiting for it to get better and after a short nap it never developed. Then came the worst ending I've ever seen. Really not worth the time to watch this turd.

I just don't want to pay and watch him. To me he's the bumbling stoned fool Woody Boyd from Cheers.

It was worth a watch. I thought the ending was dumb too. Sam and Woody both better actors than they are given credit for. My wife sez Fancis always plays the same part. I said I dont know about that but she sure wore the same clothes the whole movie. They saved a ton on wardrobe with her.
