Went outside this a.m., addressed the garden, and then went to the back of the yard, where I am building a table for the porch. Lots of foilage back there, so when I came in, I sat down and began surfing the web a little before church. I felt a "crawlie" on my neck/nape of the hairline. I ran my hand back there and it felt flat. I tried to pick it up, and it "rolled over" so I picked it up and sure enough, it was a tick as big as a small spider. I usually take them onto the porch and burn them, but this time, I just stabbed it with a ball point pen. I got it dead center on the third try. and it lay there all curled up. Dead, right?
Nope. I left it there on the desk, (there right now) and its little legs are starting to thrash about (he is on his back). If he flips over I will burn him, but I am aghast that there is an nervous activity, and am even more aghast if that little ***** is still alive

Two things I always try to have in my pocket- a knife and a lighter.
Never know when one might need to cut something or set someone on fire... I meant something, yeah that's it!

I always cut them in half, no way to come back from that.

Holy crap, that thing’s huge.

That's usually where I find them, nape of the neck. I like to torch them with a butane torch.
