Saw this over the weekend on Fox. I was in Manhattan that day and had never heard about this story. Kinda scary to consider how deep the infiltration may have gone if true. Some interesting back story on what was happening inside aviation that day.
 
I remember in one of Billy Waugh’s books this discussion.
There was a plane, it was about to takeoff. The towers were hit, and the plane grounded.
Several passengers, all middle eastern men demanded to get off the plane. They all escaped.

Hunting the Jackal I’m pretty sure was the book.

Yea, though they sounded like they just deplaned then started putting pieces together. Apparently box cutters were found in same seats one tail number off, and after plane was secured an access hatch into the cabin had been opened and people were seen on the plane. FBI officially declined to investigate.
 
So the gist of the stoey is that there was to be another plane hitting something else? That seems rather plausible.

One line is that the men asked the flight attendants if “they got the White House” as they were deplaning.
 
Or just that they had infiltrated all levels of the aviation industry and Americans would never fly again if the truth got out.
 
You cover up your failures in federal government because you are at the top with nobody else to blame. I definitely believe they had other targets that got stopped by grounding flights.
 
I haven't watched this yet, had not seen anything about it until this thread.

However, I am a bit skeptical of anything that begins "TMZ Investigates..." because I'm expecting there to be a Kardashian involved somewhere.

Robert Kardashian died in 2003. Maybe he knew something….
 
I had heard about this, but nothing more than RUMINT (RUmor INTelligence). I have little doubt there was 'more' than 'just' the four planes.

I think the .gov is in a pickle about releasing information. Do you release to prove the threat is real and still active, to inform the populace? Do you not to protect TTPs? Do you try to straddle the line in the middle?
 
We all suspect there has been many terrorist plots since 911. The government has kept all of them quite. They do not want the public in panic mode or travel to decline.
 
Would anyone really be surprised to find out there were many more planes that would have been hijacked if the all stop hadn’t been given? I had some business dealings with a cat from New Zealand who ran a flight school in Florida previous to me meeting him. Kinda sketchy and definitely did not want to discuss flying.

I distinctly remember hearing that one was shot down. I don’t remember specifically if it was Rumsfeld that said it. As terrible as it would be it made sense to me at the time. Who knew what was next.
