Looking to get everyone's opinion on QD scope mounts. My son is building himself a precision AR and I'm guiding him on the build. He's ordered a vortex razor gen II 3-18x50 (34mm tube) and wants a QD mount. I really like the bobro engineering design, but I don't know what all options are out there to compare to. All help appreciated in finding good products to present to him as options. :)

Not sure what the top” would be, but I’m a fan of the ADM recon mounts, I have a couple scope in them and have never had an issue. Although a little on the heavy side they seem to be built like tanks.

I'm a Bobro fan, just follow their torque specs. Bought a couple used and sent one back for replacement of a broken screw, they repaired it but claimed it was an issue of over torquing the screw.
I have an ADM mount also but hate the vertical split ring design as the scope tends to rotate as I tighten things.

Spuhr, American Defense (ADM) or Bobro with LaRue as another possibility. Spuhr is a lesser mentioned one that I‘d say is so over engineered you could hang from a bridge using which bodes well in a LPR application.

I didn't know about spuhr. Will look into it.

And he wants the best he can get and move to other rifles that he builds. His choice, I'm just helping him. This is his, "Buy once cry once" scope. He has the scope, last piece is the mount.

For QD I have used Larue, ADM, GG&G, and Scalarworks and found them all to be very good. I have not had hands on spuhr mounts but have heard nothing but great things. Personally most of my rifles do not use QD mounts since I am not constantly taking the optics on and off. I am a fan of badger ordnance's condition one mount if he goes in a non-qd route.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. For the Bobro, does anyone have thoughts about the single lock vs two? My thought with that tank of scope that the Razor is, go with two. I'll contact the manufacturer too for their opinion.

I use both.. I use the single lock on "shorter" length LPVO scopes and the double lock on longer length "distance" scopes. The lock is very robust and remounts and locks with no loss of zero.

I talked to Andrew Bobro and he said if it's going on a low recoil like an AR-15, the single will be fine. If an AR-10 then the dual. Since this will probably see time atop a 10 also, I'll recommend he go with the double.
