I very recently bought a lawn maint trailer 5x8 from Tractor Supply for fetching motorcycles, sheets of plywood and maybe my mower. Now, where ever I go I see trailers and I think " Oh that looks nice, that bigger then mine, look at the tie down points and I do all this while driving down the road. Then I realize, Lager, be happy for what you have. You have a 4 cylinder, Toyota Camry as a pull vehicle and you cant have a dual axle car hauler anymore. But that does not stop me from wishing and that I should be happy that I anything and that I'm still getting 30 MPG.

I have an 02 f350 cclb drw 4x4 and have no trailer to haul stuff. Just my 5th wheel camper that sits and rots

I don’t even have room for a trailer.

A couple years ago I made one from scratch. Decided what size I wanted. Went to a steel supplier and bought the stuff for a frame. Got an axle, leaf springs, shackles and a tongue from a few different places. Got to welding.

It was a fun project and really made me look at trailers differently. I ended up really happy with what I made.

Sounds nice, but never happened without pics ?

It was a few phones ago and the only ones I could find are on my Facebook page. It wouldent let me download them so screenshots are all you get lol. I built it specifically for hauling dirtbikes.

Still have it but I feel like it being built is what you were asking for.

I did the same thing. I don’t have a ton of pics though. Built in 2015 from start to finish. It was 6-1/2 ft by 12ft. 2ft high mesh sides

4 years later I let someone borrow it and they sent me this photo. I don’t blame him. Someone crossed the center line and he swerved to miss an head on collision and the trailer swung out and got creamed! Ripped the axle out.

Luckily my friend had a dash cam

I fought with their insurance for a while and finally was compensated and was able to buy a new one. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to build another as we just had twins and I had no time to invest in building another

I had a local company Tesh and Sons build me another a couple years ago to my specifications. Finally was able to install sides this week. I still need to figure out how to be able to remove the front half in front of the fender so I can side load pallets if needed

Its almost back on the road, finshed up lights other day and taking it for its first trip to pick up the wood to redo the flooring in next week or so. Still has a few minor battle scares but not bad considering what it went threw.

Awesome!!! Tagged me in pictures when you get it done.

Glad you have time to do it. I didn’t have any or I would have loved to

I wouldnt say had time excess time here either, i have had it for what 2 years now to get to this point lol. Will post some pictures once i get it back done. Down to just the floor and putting a fender back on the one side now so in the short rows.

Shots fired over the Bow !!!Can anyone beat this ?

Scott hasn't even gotten out the big guns yet. No one on this forum can beat him in personally owned equipment.

I have a 24 foot deck over project trailer I haven't started yet. For now it's just a frame and a rotten deck. One of my dad's friends just bought a 7'x20' 10K gvwr car hauler. I'm jealous, but not that much. We did borrow it though.

Glad I’m not the only guy who digs trailers!! 🤣

There’s probably 10-12 trailers around here between my son and I.
Dump trailers, equipment trailers, enclosed trailers….
I’m starting construction on a welder/torch trailer this winter. Gonna carry a Miller Bobcat, an oxy/acetylene rig, and all the associated goodies for them

Spent much of my adult life working on and occasionally pulling trailers; dollies, tankers, bulkers, chassis, flatbeds, step decks, tiltdecks, cheaters, lowboys out to 120' or so plus jeeps and boosters some with steering, b-trains and double sets. Only thing I see with trailers is work, they're to be avoided whenever possible.

Sounds like common debate around with dad and my brother and myself on where one was left and which is easiest to unload to go get something. There is about same number between us 3.

Absolutely it is. This was today's haul.
Cat D8t kg blade 8k lbs
55 ton winch for the same
Shippers weight estimate was 16k
@Scsmith42 and idea if that weight is correct

According to romes website the weight on the kg blade is probably pretty close they listed it as 7967lbs on their model listed. Winch I wouldn't doubt its as heavy theres alot of iron in one.
