Trailer title

I am planning on buying a kayak with trailer on Sunday. The seller has title (so he says) for the trailer. Does anyone know if that needs to be notarized like a car? I don’t believe so but don’t want to have An issue when I try and get tags for it at DMV.

Thanks all. Was able to go with seller to Bank and get title transferred into my name and notarized. Owner of a kayak and trailer now.
