Anyone ever been to Triggers, Traps, and Trout in Burnsville, NC?
http://triggers-traps-trout.com/index.html

I’m trying to gauge what type of shotgun range they have. It seems like a “mutt” range of trap/5-stand.

Friendly people? Worth a visit if you’re in the area?

I went there a number f times back about 10 years (?) ago. Ken Deighton, I think is his name, is good people. At that time, the main shotty area was set up kinda like the old Dare County range when Jim (Forget his name) ran the traps: Throwers located in the center of a line of stations, you get more crossing shots as you move towards the ends of the line. He had (at that time) set up a walking archery course, and I believe he did a tower shoot from time to time, though I never did one.

I would imagine things have changed since it's been so long, but I'll bet it's for the better.

Also, the area happens to be beeootiful! Give us a review if you get up there!

I think Ken used to shoot at the club. If it's the guy I'm thinking of he's a real good guy. And if he's coaching or helping out the Yancey Youth Hunter Safety Team, then that makes him even better people. Some of the YHEST competition pics are taken at our club. Which makes me pretty confident I've got the right guy.

What’s the trout part?

Grew up in Yancey county and shot the Friday ( I believe) night shoots there. The shotgun range is a series of shooting positions that give you a progressively more angled shot on the clay. It's certainly not anything super special but it's cheap and fun. Every time I went out there it was like visiting family. They usually grilled out and it was a good ol time.
