Trijicon RMR Dual Illuminated in stock I can look through in ENC/Raleigh?

Any particular reason you're looking at the dual illuminated? The adjustable LED is much better in my opinion.

I though Fuquay G&G and Carolina Gun Runners carried them. I know some of our vendors here can get you about anything you want at good prices, so if you find what you like hit them up.

I like the no battery idea. What don't you like about it?

I was hoping to test drive it by looking through it before I bought so they'd need it in stock. I'll give them a call, just didn't want to go down the line try to call everyone. Thanks.

I have the RM08G that I switch out between a 9mm SBR and a glock 19. The giant triangle is great for speed and you just use the very tip of the triangle for extreme accuracy. That said, if you are in a dark room aiming into a well lit area, the dot washes out pretty bad and the battery ones do not do that.....but they do not offer the triangle in anything but the dual illuminated. The Fiber does self adjust the dot brightness though, so as long as you are in the same light your target is, you are good to go. It's all a trade out, so just depends on what you are looking for.

The "my battery is dead/the electronics are toast" scenario seems more likely to me than "here I am shooting from a dark area into a well lit area" scenario.

Pretty much the same reasons as @Criminalcamel listed, and the dual illuminated tends to washout with white light. So that can be an issue if you are going to use it on a pistol for HD. The battery life in the LED models is excellent. It can run 4yrs on the medium setting.

That's why I ended up with a Dual Illuminated. No electronics, no batteries, no moving parts, etc. Tritium is gonna be toast in 10 years, but by that time there will be some new hotness i'll have to have. You can make it wash out if you are trying, but that's what the iron sights are there for, so there it's not like your gun is useless if the light isn't right.

I have read where some guys are having battery connection issues with the mounting plate where the battery powered RMR's will cut out under recoil. Not sure how widespread that is, but may be another consideration.

I have a RM06 3.25 MOA adjustable red dot and a RM05G 9 MOA green dot and LOVE the 06, am Ok with the 05G. Have had zero issues with the battery connection on a G17, but have had issues "loosing" the green dot on a G19, not so much moving dark to light, or light to dark, but when moving from one background to another, like passing from a dark curtain to a light wall. At the range during the day the green dot is bright and well defined, in the house, with modern "dim" 60W max fixtures, sometimes the dot is weakish to my 54 yo weakish eyes. With the 06 set at the middle setting, the dot is bright and crisp in any conditions, light or dark, regardless of background. When zeroing both, I preferred the 3.25 MOA dot as I liked the smaller "more precise" dot. What I haven't seen is the "Type 2 RMR's."

If you're running iron sights, if the battery is dead, or the electronics are toast really doesn't matter does it? The battery RMR's are good to go, and have had a ton of people using and abusing them, with great success, me being one of them. The flicker of the dot can be fixed with a sealing plate and a small piece of black electrical tape on the back of the battery. I've been running the same battery in a RM01 for going on 3 years, and it still is going strong. I also have a Rm06, with battery in for 2 years, and never have had a problem with either, no flicker, no zero problems, nada. I have used a friends with the dual illuminated, green triangle in a shooting class a couple years ago. There was different lighting with the shadows, cloud cover, etc., and did notice the triangle washing out in quiet a few areas while shooting and moving. There are plenty of discussions out there to read about the issues with the dual illuminated, just use some google fu, and check it out.

I bought the Battle Werx anti flicker sealing plate for my RMR06 it has a small indention in it to put upward pressure on battery. It was also cheaper than the trijicon sealing plate.

Yeah, I bought the Suarez maintenance kit, with the sealing plate, extra screws, etc. I think they have just the sealing plate for around 8 bucks. I'll look into the battle werx stuff also. Can't ever have too many options for stuff.
