My son is going to MD his weekend to see family.

Is there anything in MD that is worth bring bring back to NC? A great buy or can not buy here?

If he is going near the shore get a bucket of fishers caramel popcorn. If they are still around its well worth the trip. If you like to cook italian, go to little italy in baltimore and get fresh spices for your sauces. Grab a ledo's pizza and get the hell out. What part of the state is he visiting?

Ledo's is a copy, get a Corner Pub pizza (called 4 corners pub now). Yes ledo opened before the pub but their pizza was crap until they copied the pubs pizza. Grab an Italian cold cut from Santuccis and hit Tippy's taco house (they sell taco kits) in Fairfax on your way back. I try my best to do this routine every time I visit family.

Ledos has been good as long as i can remember. Only place better was called Dino's, used to go there as a kid with my parents. It was in forrestville i think. Somewhere off rt 4 in pg county up that way.

That ain't the western side. The western side is up near Wheeling and is only connected by a thin strip of interstate! Take RT 340 west into Harpers Ferry, WV. Great little Civil War town. Sharpsburg is just up river and is the site of Battle of Antietam. Very interesting stuff. Not much in Fredrick besides Ft Detrick, which is the Army's labs for Chem and bio warfare. Gettysburg isn't too far away either.
 
Use to bring back yeingling and utz potatoe chips because you couldn't get them south if there.

Now that you can there isn't really anything up there you can't find better here.

Except the crab cakes. Mmmmmm.

Ledos is awesome. Crabcakes outside of maryland????? I have yet to find a proper cake more than 10 miles from the chesapeake bay.

On the way home stop in fairfax va and go to the NRA museum. Its free and amazing. Ive spent a few years in northern va, dc, and md working and the best part about it is the leaving.

I like the taste a lot. It's not searing hot, but has great flavor. It's available around; I think they got it at a roadside stand or farmer's market or something.

Ive been to mccutcheons where they make apple cider and much more. Its damn good stuff. You can find it here, i think me and my brother was buying it at lowes in Asheboro

I grew up in southern md. Been all over northern va,dc, baltimore etc. I could not agree more with this. The leaving that is.
 
When in maryland the best thing to do is drive south until your below Quantico or Fredericksburg va. Real talk take 340 from richmond up carmel church rd on 95 then AVOID 95.. I can stress this enough stay the hell away from 95 past richmond. 340 has a toll. pay it its worth it.

Did you have to get a Visa to get in? Wait till you want out!? I think they are strip searching both sides of the interstate now. I know for a fact that VA requires a passport to get back into the South from MD now! :D Jus sayin...
