I know he took a lot of hits during his career and got beat up pretty bad towards the end of it but I didn't realize he had become a complete dumb ass. During a recent pre game flyover he said this:

“That’s a lot of jet fuel just to do a little flyover,” Aikman, the Hall of Fame quarterback, mused.

Buck replied, “That’s your hard-earned money and your tax dollars at work.”

“That stuff ain’t happenin’ with [a] Kamala-Biden ticket,” Aikman responded, “I’ll tell you that right now, partner.”

Ok, so if you think military flyovers for football games and other sports are a waste of resources and money I can understand that, might even agree with you. But to imply that Trump is behind them is just TDS. Pretty sure flyovers have been a part of sports for longer than 3 years.

Kind of, I don't disagree. Spending money on entertainment is one thing, but doing the flyover for a mostly empty stadium is questionable. Unless you're publicizing it well ahead of time and doing a loooong flyby so people can enjoy from home (similar t the blue angels flight paths earlier this year).

Also very true.
he's not wrong though. why would we need a world class military when they'd be working to disband and defund it?

I don’t expect thoughtful IQ from 98% of football players.
The fly overs are cool. I’ve asked about this expense in the past and was told they don’t cost extra $. The pilots need to put in ‘x’ amount of hours flying each year. If they don’t do a fly over, they’ll be flying somewhere else.

From what I have read, and from my understanding, most military fly overs arent just a one and done affair, they are usually lined up with a training flight of some sort so (as it states in the article) they only comprise 10-15 minutes of a much longer training flight. So that money was going to be spent anyway, may as well enjoy my tax dollars at work by actually getting to see them fly.

Well that's interesting information. Makes sense when you think about it, which makes it very surprising the government is doing it :-D

With a Joe/Kamala-its-Bouquet ticket, the flyovers certainly will be different:

If I was there instead of Buck I would have said, “maybe it’s the ghost of John MCain trying to crash another jet.”

DEFUND THE MILITARY!!!!

Not watching any "pre-game", so I wouldn't know. Troy Aikman's pretty damn dumb, and Joe Buck is a chub bandit.

Flyovers aren't really a waste of tax dollars, anyway.

Flight time is flight time, which both maintains proficiency levels and provides training opportunities. They'll get flight time regardless, and saying these events are a "waste of time and money" flies in the face of that fact.

Yep, these flights are taken out of the training budget. They’ve got to fly so why not give the America public something for its money!?

If somebody in Washington doesn’t get control of this debt, there’s not going to be any flyovers. I remember when the Soviets went broke and their ships were rusting at the pier, unseaworthy and out of gas. President Harris will accelerate it, but the R’s are just as guilty.

Yep, we are economically ignorant. But don’t worry, the great reset from the WEF will fox it all.
