Getting divorced (yay me!) & need to dissolve our trust & transfer the items (one .22 cal suppressor & one AR15 SBR) to an individual. What is the process for transferring items from a trust to an individual?

Would you prefer this moved to Members Only?

Removing all other trustees: $0 and no wait
Transferring from trust to individual: $200/ea and whatever the wait for a Form 4 ends up being

With the transfer, you’ll be the transferor and transferee (I’m assuming you’re currently on the trust, and will also be the individual), so you can maintain possession while waiting on the F4 approval.

Well, she took everything. Guess I’ll be calling the ATF today. Sure hope she didn’t take em to IL….
If she did physically take them without notifying the ATF (or to IL) your problems might be solved. Hers will just be beginning.

Just realized the items will be confiscated. Not good...

I wonder if she took you off the trust.

Carl, first sorry to hear the bad news. Divorce is messing even when the parties somewhat get along. You have been given some good advice, and I also suggest removing her from the trust. Good luck my friend. I hope that you find peace and happiness.

No worries at all. She has all the paperwork & stamps, though I doubt she could find it.

Other than being a little ticked she “got me”, I’m good. It’s just stuff & the satisfaction of watching the karma bus run her over is with way more than the couple grand spent on toys & stamps.

Suppressors and SBR’s are currently illegal to own in Illinois. IF you really want to throw her under the bus, notify law enforcement in her new jurisdiction…

Surely they have some red flag laws.
But law enforcement really must hate getting into the middle of a divorce.

Why? They'd have no problem arresting you for violating a piece of paper signed by a judge.
Because while everyone lies in an encounter, everyone really lies in a divorce.

Having been divorced twice, all I can add to this post is that you have the correct attitude.

Women and society have raked men over the coals with this marriage scam for too long. Watch some red pill content on YouTube and you will realize you are so much better off alone.

If you feel like I did after I got divorced it's a big load off of you. Good Luck Brother, and remember what they use to say on Hill Street Blues Let's Do It To Them Before They Do It To Us. LOL

Maybe try talking to her first. Tell her that all the ATF is waiting for is a judge to sign the warrant. She can return them or get arrested.
Obviously you have never been through a divorce. Her idea is what's mine is mine and what's his will be mine or I'll be Damned. LOL

So, the ATF apparently doesn't worry much about NFA items in the possession of persons to whom they are not registered. Agent says give her another 24 hours to respond & he'd call her. What a frigging joke.

ATF agent was interested though, that yesterday afternoon (after being in town to close on the house) 4 members of the Outlaws MC, 2 rocking IL & 2 rocking MO came to the neighbor's shop, asking if he'd seen anyone there that day, that they were looking for someone. 4 patches, flying colors, though they caged it & way outta their territory. I don't move in that world & haven't even caught a glimpse from afar for almost 25 years. She & her family however, are cozy with some of them. Hmmmm....

So yeah, go ahead & misplace your stamps, or just be irresponsible & lose your NFA items, 'cos they just don't seem to care.

That said, local LE is aware & running increased "patrols" & the Illinois State Police are forwarding the info & deets on her family to the office nearest her. Just ugghhh.

They don’t care about NFA firearms that are illegal in their state, including some that illegally crossed state lines to get there? Weird.

This is the KC field office. We don't know as yet that they've crossed into IL, but it's very likely. She doesn't have people anywhere else & needs to feign helplessness to con others into taking care of her sorry ass.

I thought they were registered to a trust and she was on the trust…so she’d be legal to have them?

The .22 can & the SBR are on the trust, so she's okay to have those, provided she doesn't leave MO/go to IL. The .30 cal is registered to me as an individual.

Have your lawyer do all of that.

I wonder if the ATF wouldn't care about those items being in IL because it's a state law and not a federal law. It's not their jurisdiction.

The SBR being there without an approved 5320.20 is a federal issue. (But we don’t even know they’ve left the state)
