First is a 10/22 home defense build for my wife:

The stock is a BLACKHAWK Knoxx Axiom. I had to do some modifications to it in order to install the QD sling sockets and to mount the light.
The rear sight is Tech Sight's TSR100 AR15 style Adjustable Aperture Sight set. I painted the rear with GLOW-ON GREEN COLOR, Super phosphorescent paint. The front sight post is the same Blitzkrieg components AR-15 Flat Front Sight Post (Luminescent Green Stripe) I have on my ARs.

They glow a lot brighter in person than in the picture.

Next one is MY 10/22:

I’ve been considering trying my hand at the rimfire rifle steel challenge match. I built this one with that in mind. The stock is from Altamont. The trigger group is a Ruger BX model. The barrel is E.R.Shaw. The scope is Monstrum Tactical 1-6x24 FFP. All other parts are Tactical Solutions, Power custom and various others.

Now the new toy:

A friend of mine bought this a few years ago and never even took it out of the box. We did some horse trading involving an antique radio of mine he’s wanted ever since I got it. He got the radio and some cash and I got a brand new Henry Golden Boy 22LR! I had been thinking of getting one recently so the timing was perfect.

Looks like I’ve got a few trips to the club rimfire rifle range ahead of me.

What mag release is that on your wife's rifle? I like the way that one looks.

For steel challenge - I think you might want to go with a red dot vs the lpvo. In theory you should be able to shoot the 1x, but I think in practice you will find it lacking. If you are just looking to try it out - go for it. But I think you will eventually be moving over to a red dot

I'm a real fan of that Knoxx stock, have it on my own 10/22 and it's just a great stock for the money.

Can I ask why such a prominent and large mag release for an HD gun though? It looks like it would be easy to hit by accident looking for the trigger and lose your mag. I definitely see a larger one but that's huge!

The mag release is a generic extended one I bought off Ebay and have used for years. It works great. Several companies now make similar ones. I got the extended hbolt handle at the same time.

I considered a red dot. I have several extras sitting around. My eyes require a little magnification these days. I don't know whether 2x or 3x might help me better in RST or not. I can try both with this variable. If one of those powers makes a difference then I'll replace this one with a prism scope of that power with a wider FOV. If I find that RST is not for me then I can still use this for other rimfire fun.

I wouldn't call it huge. It looks a little bigger in the picture. On a HD gun, you may need to reload. This makes that process more positive with less fumbling than the OEM release. Push forward with your offhand thumb and the mag falls out. I've used that one for years with no problems.
