Sending my Beretta Neos for warranty work, the trigger fails to reset 7/10 times.
Their system generates a shipmen but the UPS driver must pickup the box and attach the label.
I stayed home all day and he finally shows up but leaves before I got to the door,
lucky I was able to catch him. 15 seconds is unacceptable.
I have it on NEST camera, you can't make this stuff up.

I emailed them with tracking number, they apologized but did not answer my question about
a minimum time to wait but 15 seconds is nuts. I asked again and there is no set policy,
it is up to the driver and how the schedule is.
When I told the rep I was going to let Beretta USA get a copy of my complaint they got the message.
I was home and three cars in the driveway.

How long do you "realistically" expect him to wait?? If a UPS driver is standing still he's not doing his job, when the truck stops he's "on the clock". The girl that delivers in my area actually "trots" from the truck to the shop and has a 10 body with a 7 head and I so look forward to her visits....

With firearms I find it better to go local UPS hub, they have a customer counter.

If your driver waits fifteen seconds and actually rings the doorbell he's above average for UPS. I've caught the UPS driver tossing my package onto my porch from 10ft away and not even bothering to get to the door before.

When I am home specifically for a delivery, I put a note on the door that says "Driver - I am home" and leave the inner front door open.

Ive had Fedex drivers walking to door with missed delivery tag instead of package. Package Delivery services like most everybody else...over worked and under paid.

It takes me at least that long to get out into the hall, much less to the door at the other end! These people should realize not everybody is a track star, and some of us have physical "issues"....lol. But leaving a note on the door is good, sometimes I leave one saying to knock LOUDLY.

This was a scheduled pickup with label from Beretta account,
30 seconds would be reasonable. Beretta will not let me drop off the firearm, UPS driver must pickup and attach the label.

I've had USPS casual carriers flag my house as blocked when in fact they never showed up, NEST camera is great.

Overworked, maybe. Under paid? Hardly. The older UPS guys make a killing and top pay just went up.

Me too. Waited all day for a delivery. I heard the truck leaving the culdesac and I chased him out of the neighborhood and caught him at his next stop. He was just like “Well....huh...whaddya gonna do?” like no biggie, right type of thing. I was pissed

As far as the time to wait thing...my house isn’t small. If I’m in my man cave or something, between reaction time, hallway and stairs, it’s gonna be longer than 15 seconds and that’s without having to put my barking dogs away

Lets see, one hundred stops a day times with an additional 15 seconds equals 25 minutes of standing around with the probability of someone still not answering the door guessing at 80%. Doesn't take long to figure out why the drivers are told to scoot down the lane. If you're expecting a package my advice is to be at the door when the brown truck arrives or do like I and train your four legged home protector to bark when it sees ole brownie making the turn, works everytime!

They can’t guarantee a specific time, they just say between 7am-7pm or something. No one can sit by the door just waiting

And if I ran to the door every time my dogs barked I’d be a champion short range sprinter

If he scheduled a pickup for an item that has to be handed to the guy, they need to wait.

Ideally in this age of computer tracking if should be simple to modify their computer system so that they could set off an inhouse alarm and identify any carrier in the vicinity to allow those in need of their services to interact with them for a FTF exchange.

Good luck. Real time isn’t real time. I get delivery alerts anywhere from immediately to hours later. If they won’t wait based on paperwork they probably won’t wait based on an app.

I think it would be pretty much cut and dry if the carrier is located and monitored during their daily deliveries. If your job is on the line the likelyhood of ignoring a responsibility is remote.
