I am taking a part time position and the employer uses E-verify to verify that I’m eligible to work in the US.
One of the accepted documents is a passport or passport card so I downloaded a copy of both sides of my passport card which I use frequently because it is a “real ID” card.

A passport card can be used in many places like a passport as long as it doesn’t have to be stamped.
I also have a Global entry card that gets used by itself when returning from overseas.

The E-verify people sent a notification that the picture on my card doesn’t match their records and included a case number.
Then using the case number I submitted a copy of the passport on-line and didn’t receive a reply.
So today I called them and after a bit of time talked to a lady “that actually spoke English”.
After checking the records, she said they had everything and she sent verification of my employment eligibility to the company.
She then said that they had been having trouble with the system and apologized for my being affected.
I was tempted to ask if they know I had voted for Trump during to past two elections but decided to say thank you and get off the phone while I was ahead.
