Does anyone have first hand experience with US Optics? Their HQ is in Hickory.

I'm looking at one of their 2.5-20x scopes for a DMR rifle. That magnification range is about perfect for what I want to do with it. I'm a bit gun shy of dropping the $$ without having had opportunity to look through one. I know US Optics isn't in the same price point as the big guys, so I don't expect miracles, but I want it usable. I'd also really like to support them because of all they do to support local matches around our AO.

Night Force has a 2.5-20 as well, but reviews are hit/miss, particularly when it comes to the eye relief.
Leupold has a 3.5-18 that would work, but the reticle isn't illuminated. I find illum to be handy from time to time.

I have alot of experience with USO when they were in California. Not with the NC USO.

If I was in your boat, this is how I would bracket this decision.
- If a NF optic is with in 10% of the price of any option I am looking at, I go NF.
- IF the unknown optic has a great factory warranty for repairs then I am 80% mitigated on the risk.
- IF Vortex is within 5% of the price structure, I go Vortex.

Edit to add, the USO Warranty looks good to me.

I LOVE US Optics. I would rate them better than SWFA and a viable option at their price point. Over a NF? Meh, depends (for me). Over a Leupold? Unless the Leupold is a Mark 5/6, absolutely.

Without going into details on sources and methods, I have one of these scopes on the way to me for a 90day T&E. I can't wait to get my hands on it!

My experience with USO is also when they were based in CA. Customer service was excellent as was communication and turn around time for warranty/repair work.

Note: All USO optics were purchased new through an authorized USO dealer.

Qty 2 - ER25 - One had tracking issues even after two return visits to CA. The other tracked correctly to 15 mils, but constantly had anodizing flakes appear on the objective lens no matter how many times you whacked it against a phone book (USO instructed corrective measure)

Qty 1 - LR17 - Tracking issues. Seemingly resolved after a trip to CA.

Qty 1 - SR8 - No issues encountered.

Based on my personal experience I would be hard pressed to purchase another USO product. In full disclosure, outside of playing with a few of their newer offerings at Shot, I have no experience with the current lineup, which very well may be excellent.
