USMC POW Commemorative Pistol Suggestions

Beautiful! I think that one might be an “under glass” piece. I rarely say don’t fire a firearm but that one I would not even rack the slide, flip the safety, insert one of those mirror finished mags ... that is a true tribute to him and those others who served and gave!

It's going in a shadow box.

The pistol, as well as the magazines, look like a mirror.

At first I thought they had done a "chrome camo" job on the mags.

We'll be shooting the interviews for the promotional video the week of the 19th. They want to interview my father at his home and my brothers and I at another location. Any suggestions?

Tomorrow wraps up my part of this project. Interviews with my father, as well as my brothers and I will be done at three separate locations in the area. It'll be all up to Sig to put it together in a coherent presentation.

Well, lets hope we were able to give them something to work with. I know my dad did; I got a call from him as I arrived to where my twin brother's and my interview was to be conducted, and he said they just wrapped up the shoot there with him a little after my arrival. That's about two hours worth of interview.

I wish there were more I had said, or that I had time to have screened the questions first, to frame a better response.

Lets hope Sig can put it all together well.

I just got an email from Sig about your Dad and the gun! Cool!

Well we have another hiccup in the end of the project. Sig Sauer was just hit with a cease and desist order from the USMC for the use of the Eagle Globe and Anchor on my father's pistol. While this is not a case of attempting to generate income with the unauthorized use of the USMC emblem, they did the same thing to Colt with the CQB 1911 that had USMC on the slide.

The pistol is a one-off, and no further production of units carrying the EGA will ever occur. We're still working to get approval for use in the video so we can put it back up for everyone to view.

Until then, here's an outstanding write-up of the video and great photos of the pistol and holster.
